I put all my hopes on Ombudsman because my husband had positive experiences with them in the past such as DMV, SSA. However, I am not sure whether Ombudsman can make USCIS doing their jobs. The only thing that would make me laughing out loud if they tell Ombudsman that it will take 9-12 months from the receipt because my application will be 1 year on 03/20/2015.

Hi' everyone,

Maybe a silly question, but did anyone tried to expedite the AOS based upon the fact that their medical examination is about to expire?

At weekends they try to recover from the exhaustive work of ALL the approvals they do for AOS during the week.... around 3 of them. Obviously we totally understand their predicament. Bless them!

Greetings,

Unfortunately not, they don't seem to care that some of us need to pay for another medical nor do they worry that we have to pay for petrol/gas to redo biometrics etc. Obviously we are ALL millionaires, I store my millions under the mattress, light the stove with a 100 dollar bill and when Im not at home I am on my yacht, not sure what everyone else done with theirs?!?! Yeah right....... In short the answer to your question is nope!

It is very rare that happens, however the majority of cases have normally been sorted out before a year of filing, although not sure this is going to continue as the delays seem to be getting longer. 50/50 chance really!

Truer words were never said. Tell him or her you love them with all your heart (and show it) as much as possible. Long life to all, but the future is unknown and sometimes short, GC or no GC. Love is more than just a 4 letter word.

USCIS is obviously not trying to shaft us, they get 6 million immigration related applications a year and only have 19000 staff and contractors internationally. Even if every staff member worked on only the applications and worked 40 hour weeks they would get 6 hours an application.

This is unlikely, since not all of those 19000 are processing applications, there are programmers, janitors, etc...

I think they need more staff, but how well they afford it without increasing fees. They are 95% funded by fees, that's why congress can't really touch them but caused a fuss about DHS which is majority funded by congressional appropriations.

Hi all, posted here a while ago and thought I'd check back in. Still no news on the green card, though I see I haven't been waiting as long as others! A few things:

My medical for K1 visa was on January 31st 2014. Will I need to redo my medical as it's been over a year?

I'm hoping it won't come to this, but how many months before the expiry of my EAD should I apply to renew it? I think it's 3 months but wanted to double check :)
