I met my husband in Paris in 2001. We had a long distance thing (several visits, many phone calls), and I finally moved over there in 2004. I lived there for a year, we got engaged, and I came back here to file the paperwork, and now he's here. :luv:

Gene and I met per chance in an AT&T chat room in early 2002. We chatted exclusively soon after on Yahoo Messenger, and chatted, talked on the phone about 3 hours daily until we first met in person Oct 2003. Since then, we've travelled to see each other about every two months. We still chat daily, and neither of us can go to sleep at night without hearing the others voice...*sigh*

My first marriage was for almost 20 years, and I can honestly say, given Gene and I didn't meet for 18 months, we knew and know each other far more than my first husband and I did in 20 years.

Meeting on-line, meant no pre-judgements about how we looked, and a meeting of the minds. I knew I loved him before I even met him, and vice versa. We have talked about everything under the sun. My experience from dating, is that you're always "doing" something, ie. shows, bowling, visiting with friends, to know someone like we know each other.

We will be married, just after the five year mark of having "met" on-line.

My husband and I met online on a medical forum in 2000....

slowly became friends via e-mail, phone etc.

Met in person 2 years later, and soon after that he moved form Toronto to Vancouver BC so we could see one another more (I'm in Oregon)

Married in Vancouver two years after we first met in person.

He moved here on a CR1 visa just before our first anniversary (first time we lived together)

We have been married for 2 years now and have a 4 month old baby girl

It's been a long journey! 6 years total

Paul and I were introduced by my friend who was living in the UK with her boyfriend. We met online, but I already had a vacation to England planned. It was more a say hello before you meet in a few months thing. It was nice to talk about what things I would get up to when i went over. I wasn't going over to meet Paul, I was going over to tour England. Paul just turned out to be the best part of the whole continent (in my opinion, of course :D ).

After some visits back and forth we decided I'd save up and take a leave of absence from my job and stay with him for three months but I actually got laid off! It was the best timing in the world. I got to stay with Paul for six months and we decided we were ready. Paul proposed and we thought , well we know we like England but if we dont' try the states we'll always wonder. So we're doing the states for now and we'll either stay or who knows in the future head back across the pond!

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

We met in Chicago in Sept. 2004, just by chance. We exchanged email addresses and I never thought anything would come of it - I mean he live 4,000 miles away! Over the months though, we thought it would be good to see if the feeling were there in person, so we had a few week vacations together. The feelings were more than I could have hoped for!! I love this guy! Then he stayed 3 months this summer, and he's here now for another 3 months! Pure heaven!! We're so lucky that we are able to have all this time together. I can't wait until I can join all of you in getting started on my I129f app!

We're one of the couples that didn't meet online...and even when we were apart, "online" just really wasn't a huge part of our relationship. He was always travelling and moving and it was hard...we have BOXES full of letters though :)

Our "story" is in my profile !!

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
