I'm glad you finally spoke up! I thought we were the last ones waiting on NOA2 from the September group...

Today marks 6 months for us, and indeed it's been getting quite difficult to watch the approvals left and right for our cohorts (though of course happy that they are all one step closer to their loved one!) without any progress ourselves.

We've got the full court press on...inquiry in with the CIS Ombudsman's Office and Senator's Constituent Services Office has been in touch with USCIS.

Latest word is that our file finally made it back to USCIS after FOUR MONTHS of background checks (!!) - since we both have clean records and no previous marriages, we can only assume that it was the combination of his nationality (Moroccan - Arab, high fraud reputation, etc.) and my work (humanitarian relief) that takes me often to the Middle East.

Have you had any indication of what might be holding yours up? Do you have any major red flags in your file? Regardless, I would suggest getting more aggressive at this point - we're way past the 5-month mark so you have the right to know what's going on. Ombudsman's Office has been slow and provided only generic answers for us, but depending on your Senator (what state?), that's usually the best option. Call and have them inquire on your behalf ASAP.

We know exactly how you're feeling so please keep us posted! Anyone else waiting on NOA2s, please please chime in and update us on where you're at, as well.

I know this is gut-wrenching, more and more so with ever day that passes, but hang in there!

Thank you for responding! So glad to know we're not alone. You were smart to get your congressman in on it, after reading your post I asked my fiancée if we should consider the same. I believe she'll probably say if we get the "run around" again after this 15 day service request is up then we'll definitely do the same. I can't think of anything really that could be holding us up (but of course my mind has been in overdrive about it as the days go on). She's a teacher and has a very clean background- except for maybe a traffic ticket here or there. I am from the Bahamas which shouldn't raise eyebrows with the US at all as we have a good reputation with them. The only thing is, I did live in the US at one point for university. While there, I've never been in any kind of trouble - not even a traffic ticket. I was issued a SSN while in University in order to work on campus- completely legally. After university I tried to get work on what's called an OPT but couldn't really find anything so after that expired, I traveled back and forth from the Bahamas to Atlanta (where she lives) A LOT. I never overstayed though, just did a lot of travelling back and forth staying a few months each time to be with her. I did this for a period of 4 years. We're a same-sex couple and if we could've legally gotten married in order to be together, OR if this K-1 visa was available to us before June of last year, we would've done it a LONG time ago. We just didn't have that option. So Maybe this is the hold up. I was denied entry into the US in July (but was just told to get a B1 visa in order to travel again, I wasn't banned or anything) but I've heard from many people here that that alone shouldn't cause a K1 denial so I don't know. I guess we just have to wait and see. This whole thing has been so hard...I just pray we get approved soon so we can be together again. I pray the same for you and yours. Good luck and keep me posted!

There was another member in here, who experienced the similar situation with you. She was in her 6 month of processing time, and mainly the reason was that she was denied entry in US, because she had visited U.S. with short spans of time. Last time she wanted to visit her fiance, she was denied entry. That was the major factor that made her get her NOA2 so late. She was in August K1 filer forum. Maybe you can find her, and she can give you more info. I think her username was Tricia.

I know I've posted on here about my problem a couple times but I am looking for anyone with some sound advice. I feel quite lost right now. I got a 221g during my interview and had to submit extra documents. I did so last week and I am still under Administrative Processing. Online it says it can take SEVERAL weeks to rectify and even up to a couple months.... has anyone run into a similar situation?
