My interview tomorrow. Saw flood along taft today. Geez. It will be very hard to commute tomorrow on my way to embassy

I just checked the USEM website and there is no notice for a closing do to floods. If it is safe for YOU to travel and you have an appointment I would go to the embassy for your interview as scheduled.

Embassy appears to still be open for Monday.

There is a "red" rainfall warning for Manila currently (wife is on the phone ) , heavy rain, low lying areas have flooding, schools are closed for Monday. Stay safe everyone!!

Be safe MJandJON and for those who will come to the interview on Monday! My interview was last Monday as well and there was also a typhoon and the Manila Bay scared the hell out of me, strong waves and the water level was high. But everything else inside the USEM was normal. ;-)

Flooding can be dangerous in the Philippines. It can also be exaggerated. If the storm water backs up because of poor drainage from all the trash clogged storm drains, and you might have to step into ankle deep water crossing the street here and there, they call that flooding as well

Seems it will be the heaviest storm to hit Manila so far this year, as, overall, it has been tame compared to last year, the heaviest being the beginning of August 2012. Will hope for the best, as my fiance lives in Malabon - often the target of the worst flooding.

Last year, during the first week of August my fiance's family had to stay on the roof with their belongings, as the flooding went to the ceiling of their house.

Luckily she was in Taiwan at the time, but it was tough to see her family go through that.

I just called USEM and ked for the IV unit to see if the HK police clearance has arrived. The operator who answered the phone said the Embassy is closed today due to flooding.
