We're happy to report that our visa was approved this morning in Rio de Janeiro! The information that we have received on this site was invaluable. Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and support. And a special shout-out to Edie Windsor, without whose bravery and determination none of this would have been possible. We'll post a fuller report later, but right now we're off to the beach to celebrate!

Thanks everybody!

Peter and Bonieke

Congrats!!!

Absolutely thrilled that we got our interview date today. It's in mid January, much quicker than we anticipated. Let the panic set it!!!

Then by any means do that! smile.png

Just keep checking the CEAC, and like I said, once it says it's ready, send an email to IVNaples at state dot gov to ask whether they have received the petition or not.

We're gonna be having the interview on the same date!!!

So the magic date for the three of us is 14 JAN 2014, eh?! dancin5hr.gif

Good luck on the upcoming interviews. Keep us posted on how it goes!

HI Davesings -

It looks like Gabe and I are a few weeks behind you in the LONDON process. I followed your lead, and as soon as our case rent "READY" we submitted the DS 160 and the Notification Readiness. We also booked our medical for January 14th.

Did you ever receive a Packet three letter from London? The DOS informed me today that the packet three was mailed three weeks ago, but we still have not received it in the mail. Our case has updated twice on the CEAC since the first READY which I assume was from our the DS160 and Readiness submission.

Am I correct that:

5 days after your medical- London received your results

4 weeks after your Medical you received Packet 4

2 days after you received your packet Four you were assigned an interview date

And your interview date is about 6 weeks after your medical date

Im trying to rough out my next trip to LONDON for being at the interview. I appreciate your help.

Best of luck with the interview.

Hey Brucensd,

Glad my journey helped you to go for the ds-160 and readiness form. My fiance never got the first letter from the embassy. I heard that sometimes they never send it. Also I wondered whether the fact we submitted all the info before they had a chance to send the letter was somehow registered in the system, but same here DOS told me they had sent the letter and I checked the address, but he never received it. Anyway, that's why it's good to be pro active, otherwise we'd still be sitting there waiting and wasting time. We also had CEAC updates I think from the forms and then the medical. You are correct London logged the medical five days after the appointment. The medical was Dec 11 and he received the interview letter by post today Jan 10. The way I found out about the interview before he got the letter today, which is important for you to know, is to call about a month after the medical, DOS at 202-485-7600. Press 1 and then 0. Yeah the interview is 6 weeks after the medical. I think we got lucky because we were prepared to wait another 4 weeks. We had put our April wedding date on the readiness form so I don't know if that helped or whether this is now the standard timing. GOOD LUCK!

Perfect timing since I will be in Manila from jan 17 for 4 weeks. I will come with her during the interview. I am hoping to bring her home :) Good luck to all of us.

I was checking your timeline and I noticed that you indicated that the US Embassy in Manila received your case file on 21 December 2013. May I know how you know the exact date? Did you receive an email? Thanks for your reply.

Good luck on the upcoming interviews. Keep us posted on how it goes!

We're very excited. Ironically, we JUST got the Packet 4 from the Embassy TODAY! Luckily we e-mailed them a couple of weeks ago to ask for it since it was taking a while to show up, and we had e-mailed and asked for our interview date a few weeks ago as well. Our medical was this past Monday and now we're being told it might not be ready in time for this Tuesday's interview, but we took the first available medical (doctor was on vacation for the holidays)....so we'll risk going to the interview without the medical if we have to (versus rescheduling interview). Fingers crossed that we get the results in time! My fiancee has already sworn she's going to go sit in the doctor's office on Monday and wait for the results until they close for the night. :)

Best of luck to all of us on Tuesday, and to everyone else who has an upcoming interview soon!!!

So the same thing happened to mine.... haha.... they can´t even type a DOB correctly.... I spoke with them they asked me to do the same thing.... I asked her if this would be a problem to ship the case... she said no worries, if it does not get fixed before it leaves NVC, the embassy will correct it.... so as long as USCIS has it correctly on the NOA1 it will be fine.... they go by what you put on the DS160 and what USCIS sends them.... so no worries... go ahead and schedule your interview... we did it with no problems.... let me know... good luck!!!

How did the interview go?
