After nine months of waiting since we applied my fiancee's interview is next week in Moscow. Tomorrow we plan to go over all the documents on Skype to make sure we didn't miss anything. I think we have it all, is there anything we've missed?

Supplied by me:

- I-134

- Letter from employeer

- Financial documents (tax returns, etc)

- Copy of NOA2 (I-797)

- New intent to marry document

- Copy of I-129 packet

- Originals of I-129 supporting evidence

- Evidence of Relationship (tons and tons of paper)

Supplied by her:

- Interview confirmation email

- DS-230

- DS-156 (with passport-sized photo attached) and DS-156K

- New intent to marry document

- Passport (plus photocopy of photo page)

- Birth certificate (plus photocopy and English translation)

- Police certificate and English translation

- Two 50x50 passport photos

- Additional Evidence of Relationship

- Visa fee payment receipt

- Medical results (appointment the day before the interview in the AM)

Don't forget the Two 50x50 passport photos for the medical as well...good luck

The website says 3x4 for the medical's photos here:

http://moscow.usembassy.gov/physicians.html

And 5x5 here:

http://moscow.usembassy.gov/iv-medinfo.html

Obviously this is a little confusing to say the least. I told my fiancee to go for 3x4. I think she will be a little irritated if she needs to do photos again (she's already had photos done four times, 2 for the I-129, 2 for the DS-230, 1 for the DS-156 and 2 for the medical). Looks like even the embassy isn't sure what size they should be...

I think you should get her to get the 5x5 because that is the standard US passport size and as far as I know that is the only size they accept. The 3x4 may refer to an older standard. If she doesn't have the correct photo size during the interview she may be sent home to reschedule. The 3x4 is the size standard of most other countries for passports but the 5x5 is the new US passport size.

She has two 5x5 photos for the visa itself. The question is what photo size is needed for the medical examination. Sounds like the simpest thing to do is to bring both but this is going to result in a lot of eye-rolling when I tell her :-).

Wait till you tell her she will need 6 more when it comes time to file for AOS. tongue.png

I know, it was hassle for me too trying to get those 5x5s and that's why I just ordered 6 while I was at it just in case. I think they only accept 5x5s for both the medical and the application because the medical photo is to be stapled onto form DS-2053 and that has a 5x5 requirement on the form, which means the same rule applies regardless of the embassy.

The good thing is that by then she'll be in the US and over there it's as easy getting the 5x5 as it is getting the old 3x4s in our homes countries. It's a hassle trying to find someone who can do the 5x5s here. :)

This is true. Here in the US you just go ask for passport photos and they are 2 x 2 inches as needed. My husband had to find someone near the consulate to get the correct 5 x 5 cm photos for his interview.

I know it Is too late to have her take passport picture and forwarded to you by email so you can take it to any cvs or walgreens and have them do it. That's what I did with my fiancée. Overall you need 6 pictures total. 3 for medical and 3 for interview. 5*5 size

GOOD LUCK

I have question for all.

Did they tell you in a letter from embassy that you should translate every document to English?

I got letter from embassy and they did not mention that anywhere. So I asked lady who made appointment for interview if I need so, and she said to me twice that I DO NOT NEED TO TRANSLATE any documents that I have on my mother language, to English.

being confused now....

Anything in English or the native language of your country are fine for the interview. The USCIS is where anything not in English requires translation.

Not all consulates require the same forms for the K-1. Though in general the DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 are all used.

As Kay-Jay stated, consulates vary on what forms they require. Ireland doesn't require DS-157 for example.
