Hello everybody here in VJ! Finally, my journey is coming to an end. I just had my interview this noon and got my N-400 application approved.. And I owe it to VJ to share my interview experience for all the information everyone has posted here and helped me with my visa!

My appointment today was at 12noon at Chula Vista and since the USCIS letter stated I should not come 30mins early, I got there at 11:28am and stayed in the car listening to the civics test audio for last minute review for the civis test. By 11:45, I got off the car and went in. There weren't really a lot of people, the room was with only 2-3 person sitting and waiting. But I was directed to another side of the room at Window 22 where I checked in for the appointment. Th officer only took the first page of the appointment notice, gave me a form to fill up before a USCIS officer calls my name, and a piece of paper for the survey. Anyways, I sat down, filled out all the information - the paper had questions whether I want to change my name or not, my height, date of birth, and the bottom part was the Oath of Allegiance - and signed at the bottom. It was only about 12:05 there were only 4-5 persons sitting and waiting to be called. Around 12:10, a male USCIS officer called me and directed me to his office. He told me i can put all my things on his table and told me to remain standing for the oath - "you are under oath, and do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?" - and i said "yes sir."

He then asked for my green card and handed him the paper I filled out earlier. He checked if the name on the green card is the same on the paper, asked me if I want to change my name (which is a NO for me, although he can hardly say my last name content.gif ) He asked me if i have any passport which I took out and placed on his table. He then gave my another paper, similar to the one the officer at Window 22 gave me, verified the information to be correct and signed it. After that, he gave me the 2 passport photos I mailed in with the application and signed at the side of the photos. He took them all, the photos, the paper, and returned my green card and put it just beside my passport. He went through almost all the questions at the N-400 form - with all that yes and no answers. Also, all the information of my address, my stepkids, the house if rented or owned, who else lives in the address that I provided, asked if my husband and I live together or separately,my current job, and how many kids I have excluding my stepchildren. He had some papers printed and before he left the room, he told me that in a while we will be going through the civics test. He probably went out to photocopy the papers he printed, I dunno. when he got back we started the civics test, he asked : are you ready??? Iv been ready for the last 6 weeeeeeeksss!!! tongue.pngbiggrin.png laughing.gif

He only had 6 questions:

1. name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s - world war II

2. the house of Representatives has how many voting members - 435.

3. who is the chief justice of the US now - John Roberts

4. we elect a US representative for how many years - 2 years.

5. in what month do we vote for President - November.

6. who is the father of our country - George Washington

(i remembered all the 6 questions because somebody wrote here in Vj she encircled the items asked from her the minute she went out the room, and that's what i did too! tongue.png )

And then he handed me a paper and told me to read aloud the 1st line - "Who is the First President of the United States?" And another paper to write down "Washington is the first president of the United States." After that, I just sat there quietly for almost 10mins.. he was punching holes, stamping dates, scribbling notes on some pages of my 4-inch files, checking some small boxes and then he just handed me the last paper telling me I passed! He said congratulations, you passed the test today, but you're not yet a US citizen until you get your certificate. We will notify you in mail maybe ini a month or two when you will be scheduled for oath taking. Do you have any questions before I escort you outside? And at the back of my mind, that's it??? He didn't even asked for any evidence, no papers showed, I wasn't even able to open my bag for all the files I brought hahahaha!!! But it was good, it was a relief now that I'v finally passed! The next thing I remember was taking my green card and the passport that he didn't even looked at. the interview took only maybe less than 30mins because i got out around 12:37.

when I left the building, there were some filipino guards who asked me if i did passed and i said yes and asked them when would be the next oath taking ceremony. they said it's only once a month, for July it will be around next week and the next would be mid August. So i doubt if i will be part of the July ceremony, I can wait for August anyway!

Yeeey!!! Thank you everyone!!!
