My husband and I married in March 2013, and we applied for marriage-based visa and adjustment of status (I was here on a work visa) in August, and yesterday (November 1, 2013) we had our interview and we were approved. 88 days total! Yay!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/463423-i-485-interview-today-approved/?p=6622216

Now we just wait for all the cards, and life can start as a permanent resident!

Good luck everyone!

Congrads to all the NOA2!!! We are still waiting for ours. It has been more than 2 weeks since CSC received our RFE and no word yet. I've read other cases that have RFE and they have received approval already. Some file after us and some mailed in their RFE after us. My fiance kept asking everyday if there is any good news. I told her just be patience, our day will come. I felt that I am telling myself that too....

Thanks! Yes, our case left the NVC by 10/25, and arrived in Rio by 10/28. The Rio consulate sent the scheduling letter on 10/31, but another Brazil member suggested that we send an email inquiry to the consulate, and the consulate replied the same day with the interview date and all of the necessary information by email. The 10/31 letter still hasn't arrived, but the consulate says that's not problem because the email is sufficient. The bottom line is that all of our communications are with the Rio consulate at this point. I know that things get handled differently depending on the country, but that's how the F-1 interview scheduling has gone for us in Brazil.

Thanks again and good luck!

I am full of happiness for those of you who are nearing the final step (and a bit jealous, too!). I'm at Day 125 for the I-130 (I filed the day after DOMA fell), and they are currently estimating an 11 MONTH (!!!!!) timeframe for this approval! For those of us who are married but still separated (gay AND straight), I hope USCIS starts getting its act together. It's been really hard to see 129F fiance/fiancee visas approved, while ours languish.

Keep those success stories coming. For those of you who are at the interview stage - PLEASE let us know what kind of questions you are asked. It might be different for those of you where both of you were already in the US. I'll be really interested in questions asked where the non-USC has never lived in the US before.

Hooray!!!

Just wait a bit longer. It will turn up soon since your error was so minor. I suspect you guys will be the first same sex couple to have an interview in Vientiane. I will be interested in hearing how it goes. My boyfriend is real nervous about doing it when he heard the interviewer would probably be Lao.

Are you going to have your partner go to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get an exit visa? We were hoping to skip this step being it usually involves a bribe.

Just relax and it will turn up before you know it.

Thanks for the sentiments. I understand that this happened to 129F petitions when the DACA process started. 129Fs were taking nearly a year! Somehow USCIS got their act together - now 129Fs are taking 40-60 days. But the I-130s, which are supposed to take 5.5 months stretched out to 16.5 months, and have clawed their way back to 11 months. We will survive - but it's really hard, and very expensive to go back and forth.

Wouldn't it be fun one day to have a VJ "reunion" for all of us here????
