While at work I received an email from USCIS and before I evened opened it I was shaking!

They transferred our case to a local office so at least they touched it!! Hopefully it won't be much longer until we have an answer

I would say that's a good thing! My petition was just transferred June 26th and I got the approval last night, 7/9/13. From what I have seen others posting, this is fairly typical. Wishing you the best!

~ Moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Progress Reports ~

Many cases are being transferred from the VSC to the TSC lately. The online status updates have a bad wording for these transfers. They will not go to your local USCIS office, since those offices do not adjudicate I-129F petitions. I guess that was the closest update message they could find to use for this since it is a fairly new occurrence.

I too received two of these notifications today, and was contacted by another VJ member with the same question I had.

Here are copies of my notices within an hour of each other, and I placed a call to USCIS who promised a return call. I asked where case was transferred. Here is copy of both notices:

Notice at 10:16am MST on 7/10/13:

On July 10, 2013, we transferred this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to another office for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Notice at 11:31am MST on 7/10/13:

On July 10, 2013, we transferred your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Here is advice I gave the other person who contacted me:

Tanya and I both wondered the same thing. From my brief research, best I can tell is this is a good thing, not bad, but more than likely means nothing. My best guess is that cases are being moved to another processing center, probably Texas or another to allow for faster processing. I understand that the only two centers that process I-129f is Vermont and California, however all centers have the capability to process these types of applications. If you ask my advice, I would say sit back, relax, and wait for more notifications. In the beginning, Tanya and I were neurotic about tracking the case, filling out the paperwork, and now, we just live day to day on skype. We spend 24 hours a day connected to skype, and I have to say, we both feel as if the time is going by quickly, and it really makes the waiting more bearable.

At the beginning of July we just wrapped up another visit to Juarez. Was amazing, and I highly recommend Juarez to anyone waiting on this K1 process. Entire trip can can cost under $3000 if you are frugal, shop around for airline tickets, and I even went all out and rented the presidential suite!

on what basis does the VSC decide which files to transfer or which to keep? or do they transfer out all files that were filed in a particular month? any clue?

Kind if guessing here but it seems their workload is too much therefore judging by the previous transfers it seems its going month by month. March and April this time round next will be may and so on. What I don't know is how long it will all go on for or if at some point when they reduce their work load they will stop transferring files. It's sounding like all or most applicants in April got this latest transfer. If not then they maybe getting ready for another batch of transfers soon. Hope it works out for all of us though.

But those that filed in beginning of April got transfers. It is looking like you maybe one of the few that either stays in vsc or will be getting transferred in the next batch. Don't loose hope wait till the next transfer happens then call them up if nothing.

there are transfers taking place again now after a brief delay.. in between .. dec/jan filers were transferred to texas from vsc and in the mean time march filers started getting approvals out of vsc

but once the files start moving around noa2 is soon to follow

Michal and I are SO SO excited. He's already bought his plane ticket to visit for vacation for almost a month and if we get approved and he has to go home during his time here for his side of everything thats fine by us. I gather though this could still take up to the 5 month timeline which would be the middle to the end of September.

What happens as far as timeline once we get our NOA2 for him now? Does anyone have an idea of the the next steps? I will look around tomorrow for posts but if someone sees this post please reply. Thank you.
