Hello VJ friends,

What is the typical wait time from NOA2 to NVC case number for K1? The guide does not appear to be fullproof...I have heard for K1, the process is typically shorter than those on CR1. I have also heard from different NVC agents that can take 1 week or up to 8 weeks.

I am starting this posting to gather information on timeframe from NOA2 to NVC case number.

From what I hear from both the NVC and the DOS, the USCIS sends the cases in batches instead of on an individual basis (probably to save cost at the expense of further waiting times for individuals).

I am currently NOA2 July 2nd and NVC still has yet to receive my case.

I hope this post will help those of you who are in similar situation (which is basically all of us)

To help make more people aware and to facilitate this discussion, please do the following

1) Post your NOA2 date and service center

2) Post your latest news (when you received NVC case # or last time you called and they still don't have it)

This will give us all an idea on the next waiting period.

Cheers!

Hello,

My application was review at California Service Center, and I was approved on June 26th. My fiance and I waited for 2 weeks to call NVC so that we could know the case number and called NVC on July 10.

After trying 4 calls and one email to NVC, my fiance finally could hear from them.

NVC got our case on July 8th, and they sent our application to the embassy in Korea on July 9th.

I got case number.

Hello everyone! New here, just signed up tonight. My question is how do you know when the NVC recieves your case? Will they email? Or do I just need to call them and try to see if they recieved it?

My petition was only approved on the 12th so not expecting them to recieve it anytime soon, but was just curious how I will know the NVC recieved it.

You call NVC and ask them if they received your case from USCIS, if yes, then ask for case number and when will it be shipped to Bucharest. Good luck! :)

I got this from my congressman today. It is from USCIS. I'm VSC to TSC june 21 transfer, Noa1 of Jan 25, NOA2 July 3.:

Chris,

This is what I just received regarding your case.

Thank you for your Tuesday, July 16, 2013, email on behalf of your constituent, Mr. Chris XXXXX, regarding his pending Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e).

USCIS records indicate that Mr. XXXX’s petition was approved on July 3, 2013 and an approval notice mailed out the same day. Once approved, it takes approximately 15 business days for USCIS to complete the administrative processing of the petitions before we can send them to the Department of State National Visa Center (DoS NVC). I can see in the systems that his petition is in the final stages here at USCIS. It should be forwarded to the NVC within the next several days or early next week.

We just received our case number a couple of minutes ago. Our NOA2 was June 21 and we now have our case number today July 19. So basically, i can see from our case that, it has taken us 1 month from our NOA2 to our case number. Hope this helps.
