Hello.

My wife and me went for our first green card interview 24 of April this year. Unfortunately, my wife ( she is the USA citizen ), forgot her passport and immigration officer told us, the he has to rescheduled our interview because she didn't bring original document ( passport ). Its been more than 2 months now and we didn't get new appointment notice with a new date. We are located in Chicago IL. Do you know maybe how much longer we have to wait for new appointment notice?

Thank you very much

I am reading from the 797 we received for our interview last year, and the list of "following items" to bring.

They ask for a copy of USC birth certificate and evidence of U.S. citizenship or LPR. So if your wife is a born in the USA citizen her birth certificate is her proof of citizenship, passport may also be proof... but the birth certificate for sure is... after all they issue the passport based upon the birth certificate.

My opinion regarding USCIS is... don't argue with city hall, give them what they ask for.

Best make some phone calls asap.
