I have only one more serving of pulled pork left, and I am saving it for dinner!

Man I cook one on my Big Green Egg ( I got the big one to over compensate for my manhood)

Run it with the Rosemary seasoning from Sams. Slow cook about 16 hours. It will make you slap your momma

How is that grill as opposed to say, a weber? I'm in the market this fall and I'm leaning towards a weber propane grill. I'm leaning towards the genesis series.

Just say no to propane. Charcoal is the way to go!

Meh, I know. I may buy a separate charcoal smoker but I don't wanna deal with it when grilling.

I still have my basic Weber kettle grill I bought 20 years ago. For charcoal, Kinsford with hickory. Indirect heat and four or five hours will cook a nice sized shoulder or loin. But for pulled pork, forget that, I just use the crock pot on slow setting all day. I get the grilled taste in the meat just before I serve it, by rewarming it on a hot cast iron pan with a little canola oil. Of course, if I wanted full flavor instead of clear arteries, that refry would happen in pure lard.

Now, I have nothing against good slow smoked pork, but I just don't have the time to babysit a smoker all day.

this is how my husband lights his charcoal..

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/MarilynP/media/DSCF5977_zps72e3fb54.mp4.html

he also built himself a smoker, UDS aka Ugly Drum Smoker. It works great! He can put a roast in there and let it cook overnight no babysitting needed.. He likes to use Royal Oak lump charcoal

We can't grill at our new place and he misses it..

Nice! He used a Weber Red Head lid with a wooden handle for his UDS. The Red Webers are highly coveted among hard core BBQ guys. Here is a good forum for him to check out if he doesn't already know about it.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

he is a member there..

as for the lid he looked on craigslist and someone was giving the weber away for free. we use the bottom part as a fire pit.. he painted the lid red, it was originally brown...

Ugh. I hate mods or organizers who take their "job" too seriously ... it was doing fine in P&R, there was nothing really wrong with it.

Ah well, it was nice while it lasted. Now it will die in the OT forum because people from P&R don't frequent here.
