Hi,

I am filing out this I -864 form and I am confused. I plan to use the income from my spouse (USC) and me (intending immigrant: who is also the household member) together to determine eligability above poverty guidelines.
.
One clause on the I-864 states:

If certain conditions are met, the intending immigrant's income can help you meet the income requirement. If the intending immigrant is your spouse, his or her income can be included if it will continue from the same source after he or she obtains lawful permanent resident status.

How do I provide proof of that? I am on student visa and will be graduating next year. I am on scholarship but how can I provide any proof that it will continue from the same source in the future?

Thanks again for your help.

Your employer must write a letter stating you have a permanent job that is not dependent on your status. In other words, that you don't have a temporary internship etc.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Sorry but I don't have a permanent job. I am a graduate student and I am getting stipend until I graduate, which will be anytime in spring of next year. No one knows how long it will take USCIS to process my documents and to issue me a green card. So it's really hard to claim that my source of income will be the same even after I am a LPR.
