Yes, my hubby got the same exact letter (221G)~ except on his they checked off what was missing and to mail it in with passport, he also was given courier label with our case # on it.... Gosh you must be even more frustrated since they didn't say anything.... ugh.. Yes, I guess wait and see is all that can be done at this point.

So I guess there really is no formula for this... your hubby's interview went good and all and he got the same form... Let's hope both our cases will be resolved soon. Good luck to both of us I guess unsure.png

Yeah I'm frusturated since we don't know what we are missing. If we at least knew that much, we would be at an ease and start collecting our documents. And my hubby took everything we could possibly think of to the interview- chat records/phone/receipts/my visit/pics/etc.. but they didn't ask him for a single thing. Just my joint sponsor's 2012 tax return. *sigh* Gluck to you too!

I know exactly what you're going through. Just hoping it works out for all of us. My hubby's interview went very well, had all questions answered and such, but at the end, hubby was given a 221G AP, but they didn't tell him what he was missing, neither did they tell him what additional documents and such to submit. And when my hubby asked the officer, the officer just smiled and said don't worry (x2). So we are just sitting here waiting for them to update us and tell us if we are missing anything or if they need anything else so we can submit that. I dont know what to do till then. I called DOS and he said the officer should have told my husband what was missing when he gave him the 221G, but the officer didn't say anything, which is why we are confused. He handed my husband the passport back with that letter, without anything else sad.png So we have no idea what to do next, except wait and see. The officer said they'll get back to us in a couple of weeks and the status online just says administrative processing. I dont know how long it'll take, just praying praying praying REALLY hard that all goes well and smooth.

221g isn't always for missing documents. in many cases it is given when further background checks are required. My husband was given a 221g for further background checks, we were not asked for any additional documents. He was in AP for 9 weeks. Zamar, if your husband from a Middle Eastern or Muslim country you are most likely waiting for background checks to clear.

submitted again because the previous was

used so many times like 54 times.

IO officer told me that my joint sponsor

has to be different from previous one and

that has to be submitted to any of 6 VFS

********************** UPDATE ************************ UPDATE ************************ APPROVED!!!!!! - YES!!!!!

Just wanted to update everyone. After mailing our additional evidence on June 9th (courier picked it up), our case status at that time was listed as "administrative processing" ~ On June 20th status changed to "ISSUED" and it indicated that visa was printed and to allow few days for processing and mailing. We have not received the passport w/visa yet but I'm assuming my husband will get it this week for sure. We couldn't be happier, the waiting was brutal but thankfully not that long.

Thanks for all your comments and thoughts and good luck to everyone!

you might want to check in with the DoS Hotline as well, on Monday, when they are open.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Our case was just completed in London (final interview), it's not at NVC any longer so I'm not sure this applies to my circumstances. However, I will have my husband call the embassy if the passport is not mailed by mid week. Courier is going to send him a text message with tracking info once they receive it for delivery.

DoS Hotline - that's the VISA hotline # that gives casefile status, worldwide.

Nothing to do with NVC, at all.

IV Units are part of the Department of State (DoS) so calling that # is useful when you cannot get in touch with the IV unit.

Oh, I see.

Well, one way or another we will know this week. DoS hotline will probably just have the case status which I am aware of. Embassy might have more details on when the visa will be mailed. But I have a feeling it will come this week and we probably won't have to contact anyone.

Thanks.

'visa packet sent' is a timetick DoS Hotline will report on.

There are other timeticks, of course - but for you -

'visa issued' and

'visa packet sent'

are the two most important ones, IMO.
