I just read your review. Thank you so much for taking the time to type it out. I'm sorry you had to wait so long, but it was clearly worth it in the end. Congrats to you and your son. I haven't heard anything as yet regarding interview letter and I'm not even going to attempt to call USCIS because I know they will just say everything is within normal processing time and I should just wait. When I see other ATL filers who are ahead of me start getting their letters I will get excited. Until then I'll just bask in the glow of your approvals and live vicariously through my fellow VJ'ers. LOL

Hello everybody.

I have been waiting for an interview to be scheduled over 110 days. I called a couple of weeks ago and first they told me that my case is in processing time. I called the second day and they did a service request for my case and told me to call two weeks later. I just called them yesterday and I was told that I need to wait another 30 days. So annoying. I called today and asked for tier 2 and the woman with not the nicest tone in her voice told me, why am I calling since my case is in processing time range. Just wondering if anybody went through something similar. I am only concerned since I will be going to Europe in December for 7 weeks so I will have to reschedule my case. If I would have known that I would not had even been thinking about applying for my citizenship. Congrats to everybody and I will keep you posted bout my case. B.

Looking through some of the older timelines I did notice that people applying from certain places in NY take very very VERY long to get an interview. I recall a young lady from the January thread getting her interview about a month or two ago. I am guessing that it takes anywhere from 6-8 months in some cases. I feel your pain because I am going through one of the slower offices as well. Hopefully things will go through before your trip in December, but if not you can just contact USCIS and postpone whatever stage you are in at that point (interview or oath). All the best to you.

I am going to File N400, and i get stuck on point, confusing thing.

one of my question from VJ. is while filling N-400 application in Part-3 section Citizenship of parents - my parents got there citizenship 4 months ago. If i select option "YES" then according to them i am already be a citizen, which i am not.

Help me out which option should i select, as my parents got there citizenship recently. and what kind of documents i have to send them with my application.

You mark yes. You are only a citizen when your parent becomes a citizen if you are under 18 and in their legal custody. If you are over 18, the answer is still yes. You do not have to send anything to provide proof. They will probably ask you when they became citizens, and when you answer the situation will be clear.

They usually schedule within 45 days after approval. I'm still within that time. When was your wife's interview? It doesn't look like there's a scheduled oath at LACC in November, so if I am scheduled for oath in December, I will have to cancel our trip for that month. Kind of makes me wish I lived in one of those small states with same day oath.

When you go to www.uscis.gov and input your case number, what's your status? The website shows we're stuck at the Testing & Interview phase, despite already having passed the naturalization interview.

Received text saying oath scheduled! Can't wait. When I went into work today they had bought me a cake to celebrate beoming a citizen, I didn't have the heart to say that I need to do the oath first! Happy.

That is so sweet. I too have had a lot of warm congradulations since I passed my interview and test yesterday. But the day of my oath ceremony, I think we will plan a little party.

Hi nightingale! I bet you can't. I'm so excited for you!

I noticed that (others getting their letters), and am hoping to see something soon. So far I haven't gotten even a yellow letter. That would be lovely to get same day oath (assuming I pass! lol). I think you will be done long before me. I don't think I'll have my interview until December. I would love it to be earlier but I doubt it. Never say never though so I'll wait and see.

I think you guys should have a BIG celebration in honor of becoming a USC, it's like your birthday. Birth of a new USC. So party time!
