and that is the problem with the low information voter set. TM was black, GZ was white, therefore it was racism. If GZ was black we would have never heard of him. Why can't we just let the facts of the story come out and if GZ is guilty of Murder then punish him. I do not think he should be railroaded, just because TM was black, and the President thinks it is important because he is black.

Travon could have just walked home (a hundred yards or so?)and he would be alive today. . He is the one who attacked George. George was walking back to his truck and did not know where Travon was at all times.

That's his story, but the lead investigator didn't buy it, nor did the prosecuting attorney. The murder scene was a lot closer to where the victim was headed, than where the perpetrator left the safety of his vehicle.

You just have to be in fear of your life....This has been established in many cases. Clear cut self- defense . Travon was on top,had grass stains on his knees and people who can back this up. Perhaps you could post a different story that we have not seen.

Even if Zimmerman "provoked" the incident, he may still justifiably use deadly force, if: "Such force is so great that the person reasonably believes that he or she is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that he or she has exhausted every reasonable means to escape such danger other than the use of force which is likely to cause death or great bodily harm to the assailant." According to Zimmerman and at least one witness, Trayvon Martin was on top of Zimmerman. What is more, Zimmerman claims that Martin bashed his head on the concrete, which caused Zimmerman to fear death or great bodily harm. If the State cannot contradict this version of events, Zimmerman likely can establish that he "exhausted every reasonable means to escape," (he claims he was pinned to the ground), and he reasonably feared Martin's use of force would "likely cause death or great bodily harm."

Second, it is far from clear that following Trayvon Martin while speaking with the police constitutes "provocation." The second exception to "provocation" states that if the provocateur "In good faith...withdraws from physical contact" and communicates his desire to "withdraw from physical contact," but the other party "continues or resumes the use of force," then the provocateur may rely on the "Stand Your Ground" law. What is important to note, is that F.S. 776.041(2)(b) presumes that the "provocation" includes "physical contact." However, based on the evidence that is public thus far, there is no evidence that Zimmerman initiated "physical contact." What is more, there is no precedent in Florida law indicating that conduct short of "physical contact" provides justification for the use of force, or amounts to "provocation."

The simple solution would have been what my dazzling children would have done...wait for the police to come. They aren't doing anything wrong, so just wait for the police, show their ID, wait while the police check things out and then say "thank you goodnight"

There are multiple morals to the story and none have anything to do with race, unless you are a racist.

1. Be the one that testifies in court

2. Do not bash people's heads on the sidewalk

3. wait for the police to come

TM had the power to control what ultimately happened...and he did. His choice is what made the situation good for him or not. Bad choice. If GZ had gotten out of the car, walked up to TM and shot him, that would be different. But you know as well as I do, that is not what happened. When GZ got out of the car her gave the power to determine the outcome to TM. TM had control of the situation. TM decided what happened next. Go one way and you answer a few questions to the police and go on about your evening...the other way you get could get killed. He chose.

This is simply not a racial issue except to racists. It is a simple question of whether YOU have the right to defend yourself when your head is being smashed on the sidewalk. I say yes.

The prosecution just needs to find 12 registered voters in Florida, chosen by GZ, that disagree with me, and get them all in the same room at the same time. 12 people in Florida that think they do NOT have the right to defend themselves when their head is being smashed on the sidewalk.

Remember when the police dispatcher asked Zimmerman if he was following Trayvon? He said yes and then they told him - we don't need you to do that. And then he replied, okay.

Well, if that conversation had taken place when he was in his vehicle, they would have told him to stay there. And that's obviously the same thing - unless you're a racist. And when he told the police okay, that clearly meant he was going to keep chasing Trayvon - because he's black.

And If you disagree, then you're a racist.
