After you get the approval from USCIS, you will wait until your case arrives in NVC. Once your case arrives in NVC, NVC will ask you to wait 10 to 20 business days for a case number. 20 business days for me sums like almost a month waiting there again, of course, the holidays and weekends. After getting your case number, you will be asked to submit and pay AOS and IV fee which is let's say would take about 2 weeks to complete because even if you want to pay, you have to wait for invoice. After sending all the needed documents, tax returns, I-864 and other things, there is another 6 to 8 weeks until NVC tells you "case complete." After case complete, NVC will send it to US embassy in China and then after that they will tell you when is your interview. Some people who are expedited or those that do DCF will be faster maybe 1 month total but in general, after USCIS stage, NVC stage is 3 to 5 months. If you want to check, you can click on other people's profile/timeline from china with IR/CR-1 visa too, so you can have a better idea. Goodluck!

Thank you very much /

Thank you EMB for the info.

This is horrible, such an inefficient and broken process.

I second that. They sure have no regard human suffering and don't have any real desire to bring families together, like they say. It's all a bunch of hot air. So sad and frustrating.

I hope this wait ends soon!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

Just want to say my case finally got approved January the 22th, still waiting for the mail. Applied May 28th, and it got transferred December 17th to California. Painful waiting process, not done yet.

Wish everyone who's waiting good news soon.

I was just looking at the May transfer spreadsheet...are there really that many who have not received NOA2s yet? I am still waiting as well...most of the ones showing no NOA2 are from NSC transfers. As you say, it wait is horrible...congrats to those that are finally going from one wait line to another but at least it is progress!

Mine transferred to NSC on Dec 5h and still isn't approved. My understanding is that the Service Centers are approving new ones earlier than older ones, so that they can make their average approval time look better. That doesn't seem very ethical to me, and certainly not an acceptable business practice, but it's apparently not illegal and apparently there's no mechanism to hold them accountable at this point in time. I have a feeling that's going to change. Karma is a bad mother.

I've been reading the April 2013 Filer Blog recently, as they are currently being approved. The NSC is currently approving files from April 30th and it appears that the ones being approved are right over the 60 day from transfer timeline (60-65 days from date of transfer). I was transferred Dec. 12th; I am hopeful that I hear something around mid-Feb, if I extrapolate this timeline.

Good luck everyone; hope to start seeing you guys get your I-130 approvals soon.
