Hello,

First, I would like to thank all the actives members of the forum, you are doing a great job.
I applied for my I-485 last October, and it was received on the 1st of November. Since then, the USCIS case update is showing that my case is still in acceptance. It has been 6 months now, and I have done my fingerprints 5 months ago. My case was transferred to the National Benefit Center, and when I try to check the processing time frame for this service center on the USCIS website, the I-485 is not present in the list. Additionally, when I check the processing time frame in my local office, Las Vegas, it says that they are still processing cases from 23 October 2012, and it has been showing the same thing since the 23 of February 2013 (no update has been done, even though it says that the processing time frame is updated every half month). I do not know if I should be worried about my case not being processed due to some kind of mistakes or a lack of proof of identity? One last thing is that I read on the USCIS website that cases usually complete the first step of acceptance at most 2 days after receiving the case, but my case did not. Is it 2 days after receiving the folder or 2 days after starting processing the case?
Thank you so much for your help.

The fact that it is stuck at the Acceptance stage is normal. It does the same to everybody until an interview is scheduled or the case is approved/denied/RFE.

The fact that there is no activity on your case for months is also "normal". Some people got their AOS approved after more than a year.

What visa are you adjusting status from?

my case was exactly like yours so you maybe are gonna get you approval without interview like me. I sent my AoS on july 19,2012. My case was receive by the NBC. My case stayed in the "acceptance" stage for month a month until I was finally approved on april 20, 2013. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. Maybe you can call the USCIS free toll line and have a service request but if your local offices processing time has not pass your filling date, you will need to wait a little longer to make a service request. The things that is super possible that your interview can be waive but is taking too long :( mine case took 9 month! P.d: this apply only for k1 visas

Hello,

Thank you for your answers, but I'm adjusting my status from tourist visa, and I'm applying for green card through my daughter who is a citizen. Does that change anything?

Thank you.

Has your daughter filed a I-130 petition for you too? Edited by didopage
