It doesn't really end until like 3 years or more when the person becomes a US citizen.

After the K-1 is the AOS then the ROC then Citizenship. The whole thing is stressful. Just have to find ways to relax around it.

Yeah trust me it's only just begun. Best thing to do is just keep yourself busy and keep yourself organised!

It's even worse that plane tickets are so expensive- you need all the money you can get saved for the wedding and the fees that are involved with this.
So I would say try to see your fiancé as much as possible to make it easier but I know how difficult it can be when you have to save money dead.gif

This process is definitely a good test of how much you love your fiancé haha! There is soooo much waiting involved blink.png

Yeah I know exactly how you feel. I was able to get a cheap ticket in January cause no one flies around that time (£500 for the return London - Pittsburgh) - [yeah £500 is cheap for that journey!!] It had been a year and a half since I saw him then so I seriously couldn't take it any more. I got back in Febuary so its been just over 3 months now. It's not easy. I guess you just have to chat with each other every day (we skype) and remember that you're both going through this together. It will be so worth it in the end because your love will be so strong rose.gif

Although there's AOS and ROC after this K1 process, I think the stress will be less because you will be together :) That's how I've managed my stress--I think that the 3-4 year process to citizenship (if he chooses to do it) will not be that stressful because we'll be together and spending the time together rather than miles apart as the K1...

To keep the stress down: check your email only once a week. I used to do it everyday for 2 months then, just decided to give up and wait for the snail mail... I didn't even know NOA2 was on its way until I received the notice by mail. It was a happy day and I was not stressed one bit while waiting another 2 months for it...

To see a more detailed journey schedule, please see the About Me page and my Timeline.

Our K1 Process

June 7, 2012 -- Sent I-129F to June 9, 2013 -- Religious & Civil Wedding Ceremony in CT

FROM I-129f NOA1 to VISA APPROVAL: Exactly 8 months! No RFEs

Our AOS Process

July 16, 2013 -- Mailed AOS, EAD, and AP Paperwork to December 21, 2013 -- Received GC Card in the Mail!

FROM NOA1 to GREEN CARD in Hand: Exactly 4 months 27 days! No Interview or RFEs.

Our ROC Process

September 21, 2015 -- Mailed ROC Paperwork to August 6, 2016 -- Received Card in the Mail!

FROM NOA1 to GREEN CARD in Hand: Exactly 10 months 10 days! No Interview or RFEs.

Our {His} N-400 Process

Eligible to Apply for Citizenship on September 14, 2016.

October 4, 2016 -- Mailed N-400 Paperwork.

November 8, 2016 -- Completed Biometrics.

May 6, 2017 -- Received Interview Letter in the Mail.

June 8, 2017 -- Interview Passed!

June 16, 2017 -- Oath Ceremony! He is a USC!!

You're right. The only reason things are so difficult before PoE is because you both have to do this alone. Being together will take away 90% of the stress. If you can conquer all this time apart, then a little paperwork and a few exams dealt with together are nothing happy.png

The distance definitely drives you insane though blink.png

This is great advice. I think my stress level has gone through the roof since I joined VJ as I keep checking Igor's list all the time.

Try different websites that search for the best prices for flights. The one that's been te best for Andrew and I is http://www.skyscanner.com. Http://www.priceline.com is good too!

Being able to see him makes it so much less stressful.

PATIENCE - this is the key. As long as you know that you did what was right, followed all instruction, nothing to be stress of. :)

in all your ways submit to Him,
