Timeline Issue

Hi

When I click on my own Timeline I get this message:

No Timeline Found!

Note:

This member has not auto-linked their timeline or does not have one. To auto-link a timeline to a profile simply follow one of these options:

1. If you already have a timeline in the timeline section, simply click here and enter your email address. You will then be forwarded to your timeline. Scroll to the bottom and click submit. Your timeline will now auto-link to your member profile.

2. If you do not have a timeline simply click here and enter your email to create one!

I have a timeline set up and used to be able to view it before the server issue. All the info is there when I enter my e-mail address and I've clicked "Submit" several times, but I still can't view it automatically when I click on my Timeline. Just wondering if this is normal or am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm...I haven't had any issues, so it looks like it's only your account. Maybe someone else has experienced this too, or else you could message Captain Ewok...

When you edit your timeline you need to be logged in. If you are not then it will save it without your member id. So to fix it, log in to your timeline and resubmit it (while also logged into the forums).

That's happened to me the first time I set it up. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I did to correct the situtation. Sorry!

I've done that a few times and just now again, but to no avail. I'm logged in, I go into "Immigration Timelines" and go to "Add/Edit my Entry", put in my e-mail address, can view my timeline, click "Submit Changes" and come back to this thread and Press on "My Timeline"...and again nothing.

Have I missed a step somewhere?

It happens to me sometimes when I'm at home on Firefox, at work on IE it updates fine.

Try logging out of VJ and then back in, or removing whatever you're trying to update, save changes and see if the timeline is there

I'm not actually updating anything (wish I was!!), the button just says "Add/Edit" and then at the end "Submit Changes". Ah well, not to worry

Try taking a date out, submit the changes and see if it's there and then go back and re-add the date you took out. I sometimes have to fiddle with it and mine wouldn't show up either after the change over.

Or leave it as is

Hmm. The update works by checking the "cookie" on your hard drive that indicates your member #. Can you try it on IE if you are using firefox. I know IE should work.

What do you mean. The forums on this board put a cookie on your hard drive so that we "remember you" when you come back and do not have to log back in. The timelines just do the same thing and use that cookie. This is the same method that everywebsite out there uses to identify you and recall who yuo are (put a cookie on your hard drive).

OK...not very computer savvy here, it's my hubby that is. But I do know that the VJ cookie is enabled. Hmm, I just don't know. Well. it's not life and death so I reckon I'll just leave it as it is!

I don't like the timeline error anyway.

When I click on a member's timeline link that does not have a timeline, I get that error

Everything in red there is fine, but why am I being instructed on how to create a timeline just because the person I am looking at was too lazy to make one? I feel like I'm being blamed for their laziness.
