I am about to fill out I-751 for Removal of Conditional Green Card. One of the requirement is to have sworn affidavits of 2 people, do I need to notarize that or it's just plain letter with their signature??

Yes, per the I-751 instructions your friends needs to get the letter notarized:

Below is the letter i have drafted for my I-751:

AFFIDAVIT

My name is Friend name, date of birth is DD/MMM/YYYY and I was born in City, State Zip code.

Please be advised that I have known Beneficiary since year, and Petitioner since year and was present in their marriage on wedding date.

I maintain regular contact with them and we visit each other’s places on a frequent basis. They demonstrate an ongoing relationship and I anticipate their marriage will remain a lifetime commitment. To the best of my knowledge, they seem to operate as a very happy family. The couple has a strong bond, mutual understanding among them, and they really care for one another.

If you have any questions or comments regarding their relationship and my friendship with them, please feel free to contact me at any time.

It does not need to be notarized. You don't even need an affidavit from friends/family if you have enough evidence in other areas.

I agree that affidavits are not mandatory but however if you are submitting affidavits than they need to be notarized per the USCIS I751 instructions in the link i have provided.

Also, submitting these affidavits wont hurt the case if they are coming from genuine sources.

getting these affidavits notarized is not a biggy just go to any bank they will do it for you.

I think there is no limit to the evidence you can submit to send to USCIS.

Just go by the I-751 instructions from the link i have given.

As i indicated if you are getting the affidavits they need to be notarized.

Mine are not notarized, and i also didn't notarized them when i was applying for Adjustment of status and i didn't have a problem, but i guess it looks better evidence if they are notarized!

greatk, stop pulling information out of thin air. Notarized letters are not a requirement according to the same document you listed. Stop worrying everybody, notarized affidavits are not necessary, just a sworn statement is enough. Notarized only means that the document was signed in front of a Notary and does not have anything to do with the truthfulness of the contents.

All that directions in your link say are that the affidavits need to be "sworn". They don't need to be notarized. We did not send notarized for AOS or ROC and were approved for both.

Notaries only guarantee that the signature is valid--not that the document contains is valid. In fact, most notaries only log what the document IS, not what it says.

There is ZERO requirement that these affidavits be notarized. As I have said for the last several years--JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and the process is easy--not quick, but easy. There is not a single mention of notary in the 751 instructions about affidavits, so greatk, you are not doing anyone a service by pointing them to a link that completely contradicts what you say to be true

You can put at least 2 affidavits there. If you want to notarize them do it, if you don't you don't have to. I didn't notarize mine. I just sent it in a closed envelope that my friends did put the letters in them.

The decision is yours.

Sorry guys, my assumption defeated my response and caused this quarrel.

I should have looked up the difference between sworn and notarize before responding to this query.

In my case I thought it wont hurt to get the docs notarized so i had mine notarized.

If the statements HAVE to be notarized, then we wouldn't have all the people in this very string who were approved even though they DIDN'T have their statements notarized. They do not need to be notarized, but go for it if you like.
