Yeah we're in the same situation. By the time my husband visits me again and I (eventually) get a one way ticket when it's finally time for me to migrate we'll be 5k out of pocket. It's actually a nightmare.

Yeah I saw this too. How depressing that the news is so bad that we're off-the-charts. Last time I saw mine was estimated Dec 20 - Jan 14th!!!!!

Hey people, quit paying attention to the VJ statistics - at this point, it's useless and besides, there are many people not on VJ. I made up my mind yesterday not to worry about this immigration process anymore and spend more of my time talking with my wife via Viber. We talk and sleep over the phone, which is consoling. Hearing her voice keeps me stronger and I will take a surprise visit in December. She has been asking when I am coming and I keep telling her perhaps not. She will be surprise to see me at the airport in Dec. At this point f**** USCIS, NVC, Congress! These f****ed up bureaucracy won't keep me from being happy.

We are booking my hubby's flights for christmas next week, which will be a great pick-me-up :)

My husband told me to stop coming on this forum haha. I'm clearly not doing that just yet, but I have unsubscribed to the threads I was previously subscribed to so I don't go totally mental with my phone binging with all the negative comments constantly. It's not the situation we thought we'd be in now, but hey, what can we do! I don't want to make myself sick over it.

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent

06.12.2014 - AOS packet scanned in (took them THAT LONG to do it)

07.29.2014 - Received checklist via email

07.30.2014 - Sent re-filled AOS form, as per checklist instructions

09.24.2014 - Case Complete (FINALLY)

09.30.2014 - Case leaves NVC

Embassy:

10.29.2014 - Medical

11.04.2014 - Interview in London - APPROVED

11.05.2014 - CEAC - Issued

11.07.2014 - Courier email

11.10.2014 - Passport and visa received via DX courier

In the USA:

12.02.2014 - POE (Denver)

12.24.2014 - ELIS changed to "In Process"

01.05.2015 - Greencard received in mail

ROC:
10.05.2016 - NOA1

12.13.2016 - Biometrics

11.13.2017 - Infopass Appt.

03.30.2018 - Approval

Good thinking. I am also slowly learning to move on. USCIS has pretty much hijacked my life for last 3 months.

Also the number of petitions on VJ is miniscule compared to actual numbers, so it is difficult to make an educated guess.

I copied this from March. Sorry to bring up the K3 again but maybe it would still cut 2-3 months off the proccess.

Here's another thing that shows how unfair this process. We all should have not gotten married. If you look at the chart for K1 (I-129F) they all show a 5 month period for approval. We show 16,6 months for Married what a joke on us. I think the only way to bring this as a problem. We need to organize with class action suit for money for pain and suffering inhumane treatment. Loss of a marriage and family for cruel and unusual punishment for this long separation anxiety.

I told my husband that we would probably receive a visa faster if we divorced (after 20+ years), got engaged to each other then applied for a K1 visa! By the way when I crossed into the US last week the CBP said they are still receiving K3 visas at the border.

I am thinking about doing the same, FORGET this whole thing and move on. But how can I not talk to my wife while travelling :). I don't think I can do a surprise visit.

Tell that your phone, internet, electricity all are down and that you will be out of contact. If you have family in the US, collude with them.

When my husband and I were dating, he came to surprise me with a visit. He told me he was working these crazy hours for a job and that we wouldn't be able to talk much during those few days. He planned the whole thing out with my family and then showed up at my door. It was awesome and totally unexpected! You should definitely try to coordinate something if she has family you talk to/are close with, I'm sure she would love it.

I can't suprise my husband because I don't speak spanish. It is hard enough to get around CR with my horrible broken Spanish. Plus, The taxi ride from the airport to the closest town is about $100.00 and then another $15.00 for a 4X4 taxi to get up the mountain to where he lives . Probably more because I'm a GRINGA. Gringas pay more ! ! ! LOL LOL

Nobody has a car besides him so there isnt' anyone who can pick me up.

He lives about 2 hours from the airport, 40 minutes of that is straight up a dirt mountain road...

I played ring around the rosie with the dates and I found a ticket for $507.00... I'm pretty happy.

$507??????? Wow...mine is like $1,800. But, it will worth the money to travel to see my wife. I can't see no more tears in her eyes. I am also thinking about moving there permanently or at least until she gets the visa. I am just tired of waiting for nothing in return.

IF I pick a day before or a day after, its almost $1000.00.

offtopic45vn.gif The postal service is hideous in Costa Rica but I was just pleasantly surprised..ohmy.png. I sent a 10lb box from PA on Saturday afternoon, It arrived at my husband's house today . That is pretty much unheard of. I did not send it global. I sent it the cheapest way without tracking..... They told me it would be 6-10 days. I was expecting on 12 or 15. ClockWatch2.gif sooooo... something good happened today ! It might be small, but it put a smile on my husbands face and that is all that matters.smile.png
