I need some help pls and hope someone can answer this for me:

If I were to submit my husband's Police certificate from Saudi along with our IV packet(ORIGINAL COPY REQUIRED) , would he still need to obtain another one for the interview or we can just make a photocopy of the original police certificate and present it if asked during interview?

The U.S. Embassy Manila's interview preparation instructions for spousal visas and for fiancé(e) visas do not say whether or not a police clearance has to be an original. Link to U.S. Embassy Manila interview preparation instructions for spousal visas.

You will be fine. Take a photocopy of your KSA police certificate with you to your interview. That's more than most people submit. The consular officers understand that you can't get a KSA police clearance if you aren't in KSA. Many people submit no KSA police clearance at all to the NVC or to the Embassy and they don't have any problems.

Because he's interviewing in Manila, he won't be required to submit a police clearance from the KSA.

No. If he lives in KSA he needs a police certificate from there. You need one from every country you've lived in for over a year after the age of 16.

OP - if you are doing the NVC route you send it, and a photocopy to the NVC with the other original documents. They will forward it to the embassy. You do not need to bring the original if the original was submitted to the NVC.

Thank so so much Niki for clearing that up for me. Its going to be a bit of a challenge for us, since my husband need to get both police certificate from Saudi (I heard its a bit of a pain to get one) then he needs to get one from Philippines as well ( and Also a challenged since his out of the country)..which brings me to the next question of, how long do we have to comply with all the requirements to be submitted? We surely gonna need alot of time to gather all this document

You can start getting that police clearance now.

My husband is planning on getting it done as soon as he gets a time off from work (maybe not till next week). But just a taught, would it be advisable for us to submit all the other requirements and leave off for now the Police certificate (Saudi & Philippine)and just see if they will send us RFE and the list. Maybe by then my husband already had gathered all documents and we can just send it in. Any opininion on this please :help:

you have a year between responses to get the documents. I would not send the IV package without the police certificates, but other people might and just bring them to the interview. I'm not sure what your best course of action for this is honestly.

The original KSA police cert that you have submited them with your IV documents will be held by the interview officer on the day of your interview. You dont have to have ANOTHER original copy, just bring a photocopy because the consulate officer who will interview you will return you all the original documents you have submitted to the NVC.
