Hi Fellow VJers

America is the country of Immigrants. If so then why the country's law is very unfair and unrealistic regarding the immigration petition. Every one in the earth knows that its really heard for every human being to stay far from their loved ones, and here we are talking about being far from minimum two to three years. Sometimes I feel like I did very big crime by marrying my beloved, because even after marriage I am becoming unable to bring her to her new home, I don't know when she will come.

For the spouse of non-immigrants (who are in F1, H1B, B1/B2. J1, R1, etc) country's law does not do any bias, they can bring their spouse with them( I know there are some complexities but still not complex as of immigrants case). Why can't government process our spouse's case like of non-immigrants? I know spouse of non-immigrants cannot work, but still they can be together. At least something is better than nothing. Every Embassy determines legitimacy of non-immigrants marriage and decide the visa, why same thing cannot happen for immigrants spouse case? They can issue visa to immigrants spouse in same way and process their green card after they come here. At least we can be together and don't have to suffer mentally every day waiting for USCIS to process our paper.

I believe, doing right thing in right way always uplifts the country. And this is what exactly we all did, we followed country's immigration law and filed petition for our beloved one. But still country's law is very unfair for immigrants. I have never done any crime, have always followed laws and regulations, have paid decent amount of tax to government every year and have done my best to contribute to the community. But why government does not think about us? Why they don't think that its very hard for green card holders to be far from their loved ones for so many years? This question is big puzzle for me and I have never understood why laws are like this in this country, a country of immigrants made by immigrants.

Thanks

One question - do you realize how many people are trying to get here fraudulently using immigrant visas ? That's the answer to your question.

Fraudulent visas??? Is that really an issue anymore. If you come here illegally, you get a golden ticket now. But the one's trying to do the right thing are punished for those who do not do the right thing. Something is very wrong with this picture.

Yes, I do understand that people are fradulently using the immigration visas and I also want laws and regualtions to discourage this. But by saying this, how suitable is it to seperate couples from two, three years who have willingly married and want to stay together? As far as I have understood, correct me if I am wrong here, untimately Embassy is the one who will decide whether the marriage is legal or not, so if Embassy feels its not legal then they have full right to cancel and hold the visa and I fully accept this right for embassy to discourage the fraud in visa. This is what embassy does for the non-immigrant visa, so why same thing cannot happen for immigrant visa?

Embassy will check whether the marriage is fradulent or not and if it is legal and not fradulent then embassy can issue some kind of travel visa for immigrant's spouse and when they come to US, then USCIS can process their paper. Until this time the spouse may not have right to work but still we can stay together. we can see each other's face every day rather than seeing on skpe, at least my wife can open the door for me when I come home and 'will kiss me good bye and hv a good day when I leave for work every morning', at least we will get some enthusiam to go to home from work thinking someone is waiting for us, at least we will be able to cook and eat dinner together, at least we will be able to share our happiness and pain face to face rather than looking each other in skype, at least we could give tight hug to each other at difficult times and get some encouragement rather than feeling helpless in skype, there are many 'at least' list which will go on and on here.

Days hard to pass looking into USCIS 'check my case status'to find whether my wife's paper have been approved or not, although I know they will not touch my paper for next two years.

I filed my I-130 on last week of Feb 2012 and I know people are waiting for more than 2, 3 years and still waiting. I am praying God may bless me with some patience here, I know I need badly it for this journey.

As painful as this journey is, I am so happy to see so many people from all over the country who believe in God. God is awesome and He has perfect timing. He knows exactly when our spouses will be coming to America. He knows everything. He has a great plan for our lives.

I started thinking about this long long long process the other day, and I realized that God had me meet my husband and so this is all in His plan.

Keep Believing. God has already answered our prayers. We are so blessed to have the love of our spouses.

the F2A process is not only broken but also inhumane.

We are now considered "lucky" to have the process shorten from 5 years to 2.5 years.

Can you believe this #######?

I totally agree with you on your view regarding H1B spouse vs LPR spouse. I shared this view for the longest time....

Go ahead with your "if you don't like our country's immigration rules, go back home" post, all y'all patriots!!!

y'all yankees were immigrants to begin with anyways!!!

em native american should have made their spouse/kids suffer 5 years of waiting in england, ireland, scotland...wherever they came from!
