Hey all,

My wife and I are hoping her visa can be expedited, but I just need to make sure of a few things first.

While filling out these forms, am I supposed to put anywhere my US address?

I heard on the forums for the expedited visa that I am best off writing down my Brazilian address.

Any info regarding this? Just wondering where to put my US address and Brazilian (foreign) address on these forms.

Also, on questions on the forms that do not apply to us, do I leave it blank, put N/A, something else, etc?

Thanks,

J

If you are both living in Brazil, then only use the Brazilian address.

Write N/A or none as appropriate.

Okay, thank you.

If I will be using a joint sponsor, do I have to send in that affidavit of support WITH the I-130, and G235A forms? Or does the joint sponsor forms wait until I get to the NVC?

You'll wait until the NVC.

Don't forget the G-1145 with the I-130. :)

Of course (: Few other questions if you could.

I can't find much info on help regarding filling out the G325A. It asks for a 'file number' and 'alien registration number' which I don't believe applies to either me or my wife. Just the same thing with writing "N/A" for things that do not apply to us?

It also asks for my wife's maiden name, but not mine. I've changed my name here in Brazil just by adding my wife's last name, so I' assuming I'll just keeping writing my name as it is legally here in Brazil (along with marriage certificate as proof).

Then asks for what application this is being used for, options 'Naturalization', Permanent Residency', etc. Would checking 'other' and writing 'IR-1/CR-1' be correct then?

With the Joint sponsor, will the NVC ask for these forms or am I meant to send these on my own?

Whew! Haha, sorry for being so long-winded. Just want to make sure everything is correct so we only do this once!

Thanks so much!

they're not necessary unless you're a naturalized citizen. Then put down your old alien registration number. (file number we left blank... assumed they would write something in there.) if you don't have one, write NONE.

Most American men do not change their names. I'm unsure whether or not you CAN actually do so without legally changing your name. In the case of some men, who have a parental and maternal surname, they sometimes have to legally change their names to make sure they only use the parental surname after marriage so that their spouses can use the parental surname (if it comes first vs second.)

The form is used for "other: Form I-130 - petition a foreign spouse" or just "other: form I-130" (that's what we put.)

One small correction. If the petitioner has a US address, there's a question on page two of the I-130 that asks for the address where the intending immigrant will live in the USA. THAT is where the US address goes, if the petitioner is NOW living abroad. If neither of you ever had an Alien number then enter NONE or all zeros in the blanks for A or File numbers.

Alright, thanks everybody.

I've changed my name legally here in Brazil, so I'll just use the name I've had before I was married, and my legal US name.

I'll be sending in copies of all the pages of my US passport instead of my birth certificate, I just want to be sure this won't take longer or anything? I understand the first option is my birth certificate, and then the passport pages. But even with sending in the passport pages (ALL of them), I won't come across any problems, will I?

No problem at all.
