Hey , does anyone know is it ok send a scan copy of the intent to marry (RFE)or It must to be an original one with handwritten signature?

Here is the story: my friend she sent her original the intent to marry when they sent their package to VSC. After six months waiting, she got a RFE of intent to marry. She did submited the intent to marry , and they asked for it again. So to save time, she just scanned the intent to marry with handwritten signature to her fiance, and her fiance printed it out and sent it back to the VSC. Would this be ok?

NO....original signature is REQUIRED. Pay for FedEx and get it fast.

I'm slightly confused. People are saying that they MUST send the original, but the OP seems to be saying they sent the original when they applied. I am assuming here that the form was lost by USCIS. In that case is the consensus that they must now send a NEW ORIGINAL or would a scanned copy of the original suffice with a note explaining that they sent the original with the application?

Just want to note that I do understand they require an original, but am curious what the consensus is if USCIS is the one who lost the original

hmmm I re-read the OP and it seems they scanned a copy of a NEW intent to marry letter. This I completely understand would not work, but would appreciate any insight into my query as I'm sure someone may be able to benefit from it (perhaps even myself if USCIS loses any of my documents)

If you sent an original letter of intent with your petition and you are getting an RFE for it, chances are they lost or misplaced it. You still need to send an original with the RFE.

Attaching a note saying the original was sent with the petition makes no sense at all...if they had it they wouldnt be sending the RFE.

Send an original ASAP, its your application and waiting time that is affected. Finger Crossing is a general bad practice unless you like to wait or get a denial for failure to provide the proper documents.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
