To copy or not to copy

Hello

Ok so I'm getting all the additional documents ready for the consulate interview, I know I need and extra copy of all the forms, Affidavit of support, Birth Certs, Police Certs etc etc ... but ... do I need

1. An extra copy of the "Evidence of the on going relationship"

2. A copy of the original I129F petition

and

I believe that I need another notarised letter of intent to marry from my fiancé do I need to do one for myself (the UK citizen)?

What about the 134 form and financial documents from the petitioner?

A LONDON answer: None of the above.

1. They won't want your first copy. They don't care about ongoing relationship evidence.

2. They have the I129F. It's done. You don't take to the interview.

3. Letter from petitioner- only if 4 months elapse before you respond to London's letter. Since you are preparing so early, I don't think June/July will roll around before you send your application forms to them. It says so in the letter they send you. Letter from beneficiary--never needed. Read every word on the DS-156K and you will figure out why.

bring just one copy of the Evidence of the ongoing relationship and one copy of the I129F. If you have more recent proof of ongoing relationship than the one you sent with the I-129F, you should bring them also. They probably won't ask you for that, but as always, better be safe than sorry.

For the sake of members reading this post, if it is not said in either packet 3 or 4 that the letter of intent should be notarised, then it doesn't need to be. You just need a recent letter, signed and dated. But apparently for london it needs to be notorised.

The UK is one of the Embassies who does, mostly everything, differently than the rest. The correct answer was given by Nich-Nick .

My 2 cents...

I would copy the relationship evidence....if anything just to review it before the interview. They will have all of the information and can question you on any of it. It will be best for the interviewee to have it fresh in their mind.

Yes London will ask info from the I-129f so it's always good to learn your fiance's name, how you met, where he works, if he has been married before or has kids, and if you have ever visited the US. But you do not need to take a copy of the full petition to the interview. I can understand not knowing these things if you met once and don't speak the same language or if this a total visa scam. In London, generally both parties speak English, have traveled back and forth visa free, and the interview is a short chat, not an interrogation.

hahahaha...I was thinking more about information that is in the chats, emails, etc. Some of the consulates are a bit difficult and seem to ask more questions to confirm that a person has a legitimate relationship

I am pretty sure they are asked to make 'tricky' questions, but in some embassies it looks more like a joke...At my interview, I was not sure if I was dreaming or smthg when she asked me if we were gonna live in the same place we'll get married (pensylvania) when it is written all over the forms I am to live in DC (where my fiancé is living already).She really had a strange look on her face when asking this...

I am a hundred percent sure, the interview was just aformality... but no doubt it can be very different in some countries...

So that's why people need info from their consulate. In five years, I have never heard of a London interview where chats or emails were asked to be recalled. I have heard of 400+ where no additional evidence was requested and if offered, it was politely refused. Every case of asking for more evidence, I can count on one hand. And it turned out the persons had name changes from Muslim name to British sounding, no police certificate from their non-UK place of birth, overstay on VWP for 7-8 years with a return on VWP for another overstay and a petitioner who lived in 3 states with no clear income evidence. There was always a lot more to the case than Brit meets Yank and they want to marry.
