hello everyone, im new here, just got the worst news, my fiance in haiti had his interview for the k1 visa and yes, he was denied....now the lady didnt give him any reason why, he had all his documents, proof, name it, he had them...now were so confused, she gave him back all the petition papers and evrything, what are we supposed to do now????? are they gonna send me a letter stating why they denied him, or should i get a lawyer right away???

the lady just gave him a paper that said the request for your visa was denied n highlighted no 5a: "there is no familiar relationship between us"and gave him all the papers since we 1st started the process.

Sorry to hear that. Did you visit him and have proof of it. It is hard for us to help you since we have not clue. Do you have any hunch as to why he was denied?

well, he said they ask him very simple questions, like how long we been together, how many bros/sis do i have? has he met my family.....easy stuff....

What else did the CO say to him? It looks to me from what I've just looked at online that they didn't believe it was a bona-fide relationship. I'm sorry for your denial. You might want to consider going the spouse visa route instead.

What else did the CO say to him? It looks to me from what I've just looked at online that they didn't believe it was a bona-fide relationship. I'm sorry for your denial. You might want to consider going the spouse visa route instead.

i dont understand how they could believe that, he said, the lady didnt even bother to look @ any of the proof/docs that he had....she just ask a few simple questions, he answered them all, then she just handed him the letter, when he ask if she wanted to see the proof, she just said no, & that was it.

The lawyer will only take your money, can do nothing else.

You didn't provide enough proof that you have a legitimate relationship. This is very Embassy-specific, so move on over to the appropriate regional forum for exact advice....most likely have to marry and file for a CR-1.

everything that u could think of: photos 200 n plus, phone bill, copies of tickets, our online convos, birthday/holiday cards, western union reciepts, etc.

The lawyer will only take your money, can do nothing else.

You didn't provide enough proof that you have a legitimate relationship. This is very Embassy-specific, so move on over to the appropriate regional forum for exact advice....most likely have to marry and file for a CR-1.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

How often did you visit?

he's 8 years older....but i didnt think that would ever be an issue....no divorce on either, and he never petitioned before...
