Have you tried calling DOS? (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DOS)

you can tell them what NVC told you, and that you're a little worried cause you don't have your case number (Which won't start by MNL, the begining of the case number will depend on the consulate. Mine was PRS). See if you give them your USCIS reciept number for the I-129F they can give your your embassy K-1 visa application number.

Good luck!

Good luck in your visa journey!

FYI, MNL refers to Manilla (Philippines), so you will definitely never get a MNL number. Rather, your number will start with three letters that are code for the embassy in Morocco (Casablanca I presume).

This is the notice i dont understand but the lawyer said there is new system that they forwarded the case directly to the consulate

coz the notice says that the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate plz contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance

and when the person this petition is for enters the US BASED ON THIS VISA HE OR SHE WILL ADMITED FOR NINETY DAYS IN ORDER TO MARRY THE PETIONER BLA BLA BLA

IF THE PETITIONER AND THE FIANCE DO NOT MARRY WITHIN 90DAYS ALSO BLA BLA BLA

NOTICE: ALTHOUGH THIS APPLICATION /PETITION HAS BEEN APPROVED.USCIS AND THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO VERIFY THE INOFRMATION SUBMITTED IN THIS APPLICATION BLA BLA...

what does mean do they send it already to the consulate or what .??

That doesn't make any sense. Petitions do not bypass NVC to the Embassy because they collect the K-1 visa application paperwork (the application forms, affidavit of support, relationship evidence, etc) and THEN send it to the Embassy. Relax - you'll get your case number. If you don't have a case number 30 days after petition approval then by all means start calling NVC.

Ditch the lawyer he's a clear idiot.

Edit:

Here's a thread from 2011: The letter may say it's been sent directly to the Embassy but that's wrong. It's at NVC.

Very good point! I just check my NOA2. It says that "the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate...." too. But what happened it reality is that the case was transfered to the NVC and then to the consulate.

I called NVC about 3week+ after NOA2 and they gave me my case number.

OP, what you should do is:

- Wait for 2 weeks then call NVC and ask for your case number. If they give you the same strange answer again, call DOS and ask them where your case is.

-OR call DOS now and ask them where your case is. (calling DOS will take you 5 to 10 minutes max. And they will have info for you. Nothing to do with the crazy USCIS call center or even NVC.)

And please let us know what really happened to your case yes.gif

Good luck in your visa journey!

Hi,

You are talking about NAO2 received in February. I received mine on November 26th. My NOA2 said the same thing. I have been contacting Vermont Regional Center, NVC and DOS and all in vain. NVC asked me to send an email to nvcresearch@gov.com. I did it a week ago. They still cannot trace my papers. Called Vermont and asked for second level of support. They said they would do an investigation and get back within 3 days. 3 days passed. No response. Bottom line is they are experimenting with our papers. When I express my concern about NAO2 expiring in a month they say "Oh do not worry, It can be extended". At this rate my fiancé will be able to join me only when I am 60 years old. (Now I am only 25). If any one can give a constructive solution I would greatly appreciate it.

K-1 applications are only at NVC for a very short time, you will not be submitting any further paperwork to NVC for the k-1 visa, Your beneficiary will receive all the applications on his/her side, once the embassy receives your file , they will mail the information to the beneficiary.

Hi Mcada,

I am sorry, I don't really have an answer for you but:

You should start your own thread for this, even if you have kind of similar problem to the one the OP has. You have more chances to get anwsers and help. Most members don't read the whole thread, just the original message, so chances that you get an answer when posting in an existing topic are low.

Have you called your congressman or senator? If not, do so.

I would write to the USCIS too (your service center, find out who is the head of it, and request to have an answer to your questions, keep a copy of your letter, if there is a system in the us to make sure the recipient acknowledge he recieves your letter, use it. If he or his secretary has to sign something when delivered your letter, it will be treated as something important and opened right away)

Do the same for the NVC and embassy.

To the OP, I recieved my NOA2, it was written exactly the same thing as yours, my case left NVC exacly 11 days after my petition was approved in the USCIS, have my interview in 6 days now. So everything can still go perfectly fine, don't panic yet.

Good luck in your visa journey!

it took about 2.5 or 3 weeks for ours to be at NVC. don't call them everyday cuz that'll stress you out just every other day or couple of days. i called once a week. just wait it out pretty much like how you've been doing. it's a waiting game.

Not necessarily. Our K1 petition, and others like us, were stuck at NVC in AP. We were there for nearly 8 weeks. They randomly take some out of the queue for additional processing. We had a total of 3 letters in the post saying it would be sent on to the consulate, and all the same it stayed at NVC.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Good luck and God bless in your patience. Trust me, we all know how it is. Just take it one day at a time and keep yourself busy. Follow up as you have to making sure you don't get lost along the way, but as long as you are in the right location that is a big plus. Trust me, it could always be worse.
