Do the tax returns need to have signatures too? I just realized in my AOS I sent my tax-returns without any signatures because I e-filed them.

I have one co-sponsor my uncle. The NVC received the AOS already and transferred them to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. When I send the AOS back to my wife. Does the AOS need to be original copies with fresh signatures? Or can I just send a photocopy? My uncle lives in a different state so if I could just send a pdf of the I-864/co-sponsor statement/tax returns/etc that would be more convenient for my uncle.

If not, I will send everything in the mail.

Careful with the acronyms, AOS at first glance is taken to mean "Adjustment of Status". You want original signatures on your forms (and your uncle's). As for the taxes, I'm not sure if an efile print out cuts it, but someone here will come along with a clearer answer on it. Personally, I just ordered tax transcripts from the IRS, they were free and you can order them online.

Yes, so lets give him the answer. You are not required to send an affidavit of support to your wife. The reason for doing so, would be purely for her information, or to update it. For example if the latest tax return included was 2011 and 2012 is filed before the interview, scan and email the 2012 return, so she can show it if they ask.

Um, you're responding to a CR1/IR1 forum visa question. If you're not able to follow the context, it may be best to read instead of post.

I'm pointing out that NO, you did NOT follow the context, at all, much less "fine". I get that you're using the portal issue as your excuse but here's what you need to learn. To determine context, you look at the profile information that clearly stated CR1/IR1 and then be aware of the actual forum in which the post appears. If you had done EITHER, you would not have given the wrong answer. Yes, your answer was actually wrong, because the actual Affidavit of Support (original) has already been sent to NVC. The question was about what to ALSO send to his spouse. Your answer was in the context of K1, where the other affidavit of support IS sent to the beneficiary.

Again. Please make sure you know the context and the correct answer IN than context before posting.

Deleted post aside, I would still like to offer my apologies to the OP for confusing the issue. I clicked through and did not realize I was in an IR-1/CR-1 post. Pshbrk's advice is much more accurate to your situation. Also, though some readers took it that way, I did NOT mean the "AOS" comment to sound snide or insulting in any way, it was just an aside. Begging everyone's pardon.

No big deal about the confusion.

I also forgot about my other question. I recently switched jobs. My old job had paystubs, but the new job does not. Should I have a signed letter from my boss listing how much I earn and when I started working there? I imagine I should send that to my wife instead of just scanning/emailing it? And I should update my AOS because of my changed job right?

For my uncle, is it enough to just scan the new tax return for my wife? Do I also need his recent paystubs to verify he still has income? Do I need to update his AOS and does the updated AOS need to be signed by him?

Thanks a lot guys.

You really shouldn't need to do any of that. If you send your uncle's 2012 tax return, just a scan printed in China will be fine, as will a more recent pay stub from uncle. Otherwise, relax, If you do neither, that should be OK too.

how about my change of work/income? There are no pay stubs, so I would need a work letter. It should be notarized original copy sent via mail? Sounds like everything else can be scans. Thanks.

I read and understood your question and gave you MY answer. You are not a qualified sponsor, so unless your change of employment qualifies you, there's no need to update it. What purpose are you thinking it would serve to do so?
