First of all let me give you a little background of what happened. My husband had his interview in October 2011 and was told they was sending our case back for possible revocation because they believe we were married for immigration purposes only. But praise GOD when we got the NOIR we was reaffirmed on October 9, 2012. Now I had been calling USCIS, & NVC about our case every other day since I got the letter saying we was reaffirmed. USCIS would tell me every time I called that our case had been sent back to DOS for processing and I should contact them. I would call them they told me they did not have our Petition I-130 and I should call USCIS back and ask them exactly when they sent it out. Now when I called USCIS back they claimed to me that they sent the case back on October 10, 2012. Now I have been keeping in touch with both of them every other day inquiring about our case. So at the end of December I got my Governor and State Representative involved in it again. I faxed both of them the reaffirmed letter and they both took over from their but I kept calling both USCIS and NVC inquiring about our case. They both kept claiming they did not know where our case was at. So about a week ago my Governor called them again to inquiry and he said he told them he gives them 10 days to produce my case or he will take farther action. So on Monday February 4, 2013 my Governor called me informing me that they found my case and it was at NVC and has been their since January 31, 2013. He told me they informed him that they would work as fast as they could to get the case back into the system and back out to Nigeria.

But today I got a letter from USCIS saying this "Your file is being requested for review. You should receive a follow-up notice within 30 days of this letter." I am so confused right now by all of this and my question is have anyone heard of this and if so what does it mean. The letter was dated February 1, 2013 from USCIS and I am wondering do they not know that NVC found our case. Could someone please :help: me because I am really confused now.

Thanks so much for any advice or help anyone can give me.

Hopefully they did not get pissed that they were given an ultimatum to do their job and now want to play some funny game with this additional review.

If NVC says it has been there since jan 31st call them agin tomorrow/monday and hear what they say about the current location now ( see if they mention it has been sent back to USCIS or not)

The governor is the one who gave the ultimatum, I'm sure USCIS is used to that by now with the way they work!

I'd call NVC and make sure the case is there, and keep calling every day after that just to make sure.

Considering the dates, what may have happened is that USCIS opened the file, sent you the letter, then saw it was all ok, and sent it immediately to NVC (sent 31st Jan). The letter sat a day in the mail room (sent 1st Feb). Good luck!

Are you sure it wasn't your Senator that you got involved??? State governors typically do not get involved in immigration matters since immigration is a Federal Government matter.

I am just going to keep on praying and trusting GOD to do what HE does best "WORK THINGS OUT".

As far as my Governor pissing them off I already figured that much when he told me what he said to them. If they wanna play games go ahead because we serve a GOD that has our back in every situation and problem we face with immigration.

   Just got off the phone with USCIS after all this time on the phone waiting to talk with them. They lady I finally got to talk to told me to disregard the letter but do keep it for my references, but they called NVC while they kept putting me on hold to find out some things. She said that NVC told them that they did find my case on January 31 and that they had already informed me about the findings. They were actually very nice about things and apologized for everything. I thank you for all the wonderful comments and advice everyone gave.

Congrats on the update :) God is in control.

So was NVC communicating with other Govt agencies except the public cos I thought they were closed yesterday due to the snow storm?

MsHogan, all that is needed is for the file to be sent back to the consulate for another interview. I dnt know if they will ask for expired documents like the Police certificate and other civil documents or just have them bring those at the interview.
