I am in a bit of a sad state after my call to USCIS.....should I just get married? and file an I-130...processing times are the same but could she visit earlier or no because its The Philippines and the VISA would not be issued until later anyway.

---------------------------------

129F processing times on their computers are at 8 months from the date of receipt for my applciation received on Jan 15th 2013.

He also confirmed the Alien number change notification is a glitch and there is no number assigned to my case at all which I know has been a hot topic here on the boards.

---------------------------------

I asked if he was just using the website that shows the June 4th date and he said he sees that but he is using the database he has access to for VSC which has an estimated time of 220 days.....made me sick. Especially considering CA has better times and I live in El Paso, TX.....a 16 hour drive from CA. =(....ugh

We were also assigned Vermont Service Center. Our NOA2 came 224 days after the NOA1 receipt date. It's a long, hard wait ~ I know!! It seems endless. Our adjudication dates kept being moved into the future, at first weekly.... and the closer the time got, they would change it daily. Very discouraging to those who wait. I don't really understand why you were not assigned to CA. Vermont sucks. But finally, after waiting for 364 days, my fiance will have his interview in 3 weeks. It's truly a test of patience and love. Hang in there; it will come.

Thanks =). I hope it works out that way.

I am lucky enough that I will be able to afford a trip here to visit in April but I cant visit a 2nd time before the approval and then also fly her to the US after the interview. Leave it to me to fall in love with someone who is nearly as far away as possible from where I live lol.

We have been living together for 7 months here in Manila and this seperation is going to hurt bad but I know we can do it. ( i need to go home as my work assingment is ending) Its just going to be so efing hard....

should I just get married? and file an I-130...

I was thinking the same thing. I'll be heading to Jamaica in the next month or so and will be bringing my daughter with me.. One of the reasons I went the K1 route was because I wanted her to be be with me when I got married.... and I THOUGHT the K1 was faster that spousal visa... Now seeing some I-130 get approved due to them being sent to local offices in 30-40 days.. it's really tempting!! and if you think of it, it's still cheaper even if you take the $340 for filing K1 as a loss because you don't have to file for the AOS... hmmmmm... any one have any advice??

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to USCIS Service Centers forum -- chief thrust of thread involves Service Center timelines. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I understand your eagerness. I have not seen my fiancee since Aug 19 when I moved back to USA. I waited until I was re established to file. At that time waiting times were 3 to 5 months. That soon changed to 6-8 months. I can say the time apart was good as we improved on communication and finances. Hang in there and use the time to get to know each other better. Good luck

Don't feel bad, CSC is now averaging 7.2 months from NOA1 to NOA2, and will probably get worse as immigration reform creeps through Congress this year.
