For the AOS, I know it states somewhere that if your income isn't continuing once immigrated, to not include it, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be written as $0 or the actual amount and then simply a joint sponsor is needed. You may want to call NVC up and ask about this. Still open for one more hour!

For both packages though, make sure the bar-coded cover sheet is the FIRST page. The cover letter should be second. The reason is because NVC scans your packages, don't make their job harder

For the IV package, put the DS-230 continuation sheet after the DS-230. Don't separate the two documents with passport pictures.

Besides that, looks good

Hi Saylin,

In thanking you for your above response, I mentioned I would contact NVC to clarify whether the USC income earned abroad should be converted to USD and included or written as $0. In the end I chose to take the path of least resistence.

My USC stated in his AOS cover letter that he is living and working abroad and that he is currently seeking employment in the US.

So, my USC converted his earnings abroad into USD and included it. We have left it to NVC to recognise the ammount as earnings abroad that will not continue, and trust that they will ignore it. We do of course have a joint sponsor.

I had the same problem getting a police certificate (not from NL though). I just sent a letter to the NVC (using the new barcode sheet) confirming that I had done everything in the instructions and my IV package was approved a week later

Thanks It's good to know I am not the only one facing this issue. I just snail mailed and emailed a response to the checklist where I point out just that.

You have to wait on the AOS FEE BILL to hit yer email inbox (you do stuff with a telephone, daily, prior)

but

once it does hit -

You can ask for an expedite at NVC. NVC will put a query into the IV unit, and if the IV unit accepts the expedite request, the casefile (whatever NVC has at the moment) is shipped out to the IV unit.

Not turn in stuff to NVC? Must turn in to the IV Unit on interview day.

Go Get Em ! [hint - used advanced search tool, search terms 'NVC Expedite' Author Name 'Darnell', then tick on 'display as posts' - I've written tons about this, in the last 2 years, and you'll see my posts about it] url - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search

Thanks for the Info Darnell. I went ahead and did the advanced search on your posts and they are really helpful  But I have couple of questions.

First of all, when you said I call NVC and ask for an expedite once the AOS FEE BILL is in, what do they ask for over the phone? I mean do they listen to what I say and write it down, or do they tell me to mail them my evidence (I am in Egypt and takes a while for mail to get there), or how do I "tell" them I want an expedite?

Secondly, so that means that DS-3032 will be sent thru email first, correct?

Thirdly, I am a little worried that it's harder to deal with the embassy than the NVC! I mean, I will take all my documents to the embassy as said, but then would the embassy just be rude about it because I made them do all the work? do they talk long after the interview date to check ALL the papers since they never seen it before the interview date? I just don't want it to go to them and then wait for ages until they work on it or they can make things up! ugh, I am just paranoid haha!

I am thinking of actually going thru NVC very quickly and then ask for an early interview date! is that possible? Thanks in advance :)

Two of the business's I've worked for are now closed... So they don't REALLY have an address anymore. But I'll give the one I have on file for them when they were open! LOL Good luck calling anyone tho.

I hope to send in the AOS before he does his taxes... If they go off last year's taxes he won't have enough even though his pay stubs says he makes about 3 times the guidelines. I do NOT want to wait for next year to do move and having a co-sponsor isn't an option as his family makes less than him, and his best friend is in the military with a wife and child so I doubt his income would be enough either.

I suppose that's ok, I didn't include my first employment as well as the second one because I couldn't remember the dates. I don't think they will be calling anyone, it would be ridiculous if they do though, considering the amount of applications they get!

well if your interview takes place after April 15, you will have to take a copy of the 2012 tax stuff with you (in case the CO asks for it). Make sure you get everything ready, fill out the I-864, get all his paper work in order, get all your DS-260 supporting documents in order so that you can fly through the NVC.

The beneficiary ID is needed only for those doing online forms (DS-261 and DS-260). Since you're not eligible for these, don't worry about the BIN.

thanks saylin! so i got the case#s, iin and sent ds-3032. where can i find invoice aos bill? in payment portal right? so now, my husband(usc) filed i-130 for me and for my daughter. we only knew just now that she qualified for crba. we have our sched for crba interview this feb 28. are we going to wait for the results before continuing my visa petition? since the aos bill is $88 per case so my husband needs to pay two $88 ryt? and how can we cancel or withdraw our daughter's case? thanks saylin!

Hello VJ friends,

I asked this question in NVC forum but not much activity going on in that forum so I am asking it here since you're all recently going through NVC process. In our case, my husband will be sponsoring his mother now that I-130 is approved. His income is well above the required level so he does not need my help in meeting income requirements to sponsor his mother. Also, he will not be using any of our joint assets (bank account, property, etc) to meet the income requirements. But, we are confused whether we need to file I-864A along with I-864.

Reasons we think I, as a spouse and household member, needs to fill I-864A:

1. We file taxes jointly. If we use his income alone on I-864 form, those numbers will not match up the gross income stated on IRS Transcripts. Concern here is that this will trigger RFE.

2. Someone on VJ pointed out that NVC wants to ensure that spouse is aware of the promise/contract the other spouse is making with I-864 and therefore they prefer one of the spouse to file I-864A such that the other spouse is aware.

Reasons we think I do not need to fill I-864A:

1. In the first page of I-864A, following is stated. "Form I-864A may only be used when a sponsor's income and assets do not meet the income requirements of Form I-864 and the qualifying household member chooses to combine his or her resources with the income and/or assets of a sponsor to meet the requirements." This sounds like we don't need to fill out I-864A.

2. To support his individual income, we do plan to send evidences such as his W2s, pay stubs, and employment verification letter. So even if the numbers do not match up, the evidence will match the income numbers in I-864.
