Someone who got denied entry

Hello people! I posted that question on the "Yes, you can visit" topic, but I wanted to get some attention because there are quite a few people with that worry. So I need help from people maybe, who got denied entry at the US.

Who pays for the ticket once you get denied at the POE in the US? The airline or you? Do they use your return ticket?

And does the VWP (ESTA) gets banned forever?

And another silly random question just because I'm on it (lol), when you get your K1 Visa and go on the airport of your country to board the airplane, they check normally your visa or whatever you have like ESTA. I know the k1 comes in a sealed envelope. What about when you don't have ESTA? How do you present it to the airline people and the control (before the US entry)

Thank you and have a nice day!

I dont know about your first question - but I don't see why the airline should have to pay for the return ticket to be honest. I think if you get denied you go to the counter and ask for the earliest flight back and pay for changes ? I don't know, that is what I came up with while reading your question :)

The K1 is not in a sealed envelope it is in your passport as any other visa. The K1 documentation from the embassy is in the sealed envelope which you cannot open and have to hand in at the POE but you still have your passport with visa to show !

Hope that helps

Question No 1: As far as I know, you pay for the trip back to your home country if they deny you.

Question No 2: Before getting onboard my cruise ship (I am not sure if it is the same on planes), I was asked to show my passport and ESTA confirmation to the cruise line staff. When I told them that I do not have an ESTA and that I travel on a visa, they called a U.S. official they had there who looked at my visa and just "okayed" it. That was about it. The rest of the paperwork (like the sealed envelope you were talking about) must be handed over to the CBP officer at the POE when you are entering the States.

PS: I'll write you on FB when I have more time :)

I was denied entry last April in Toronto. I went to the ticketing counter and they got me on the earliest flight back at no charge. However, I was not reimbursed for my return flight scheduled a week later.

Is a return to your flights origin required?

Could an immediate RT to Mexico, Canada, Bahamas be purchased creating a transit instead of returning on a immediate transpac return?

Thanks.

Well, many of us can not even think about our fiances being able to even visit once.........so it's hard to find sympathy. Nothing personal.

Those that do get denied obviously didn't show enough ties to return to satisfy the CBP.

Arinlars was looking for answers from someone who had been denied entry in the past. It happened to me, so I replied. I was trying to be helpful, not looking for sympathy.

If you did not originate from one of those countries then they are not going to allow you to fly there. The problem is that the airline is responsible for your return, so they will retur you back from whence you came. If they put you on a flight to another country and you are denied there also, then they now have an uncompensated return flight for you. (The compensated flight being the one you purchased with your return ticket.)

Makes sense. Thanks.

I know the airplane side, just not familiar with the denied entry side of the coin.
