Let's be honest here - with beneficiary from Pakistan, embassy will not speed up the AP despite any expedite request at USCIS or NVC level. They will take all the time they need to run the AP and background checks.

You heard wrong.

Getting knocked up only demonstrates that you don't use birth control, and does not demonstrate that you qualify for an expedite. An expedite is essentially taking someone else's spot ahead of you for yourself.

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD are USCIS' expedite criteria.

A high-risk pregnancy, where either the mother or child's life was at risk, would qualify for an expedite. A normal pregnancy (i.e. most women's) would not.

thanks for the clear up!

Expedites when the US Citizen has a serious medical problem are fairly common. Expedites for the foreigner's medical problems, are uncommon.

I suppose it can't hurt to try.

You have at least 2 thread about expediates, fishing for reasons. You can't expediate AP and that will probably take as long as the visa process.

Sorry about the duplicates. I am not "fishing for reasons", I am trying to see how I can best make my case, that's all.

"Medical issues" is vague

Expedite because your spouse has inoperable brain cancer and 2 months to live? Yes

Expedite because your spouse has the sniffles? No

good luck

Torn ligament, requires orthopedic surgery, and lots of rehab. We both have family members who have died in hospitals or due to after affects of surgery in Pakistan. Rehabilitation is not particularly helpful there either, most therapists I have seen just want to get paid, they don't do a thorough job. I am not saying that there aren't good doctors and therapists there, but it is hard to find good ones if you don't know anyone. Hence, I feel it is best if done here, where I can assure she sees decent doctors and therapists for rehab.

I don't know, should I request I-130 expedite, or apply for a B visa? or both? I sent my I-130 in February.

You can try they will probably deny it. If bad medical care was an expediate many people in non first world countries would be applying for expediates and disrupt the concept of first in first out. Is there any period of time this must be done vs something she could wait until she gets her visa ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
