Is a copy of NOA-2 mandatory for the interview?

Hi everyone,

When I filed for the I129-F, I put in a wrong zip code, so my NOA-2 was sent to the wrong city. I, therefore, do not have any copy of my NOA-2, just a notification from the NVC that says that our petition was approved and that we can go forward, and an e-mail from USCIS.

Now, my fiancée has her interview scheduled for January 30th and I am soon going to send her a few documents by mail for her to bring to the interview. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to get a hold of my NOA-2 in time for her interview.. is this going to be a problem?

Thank you

The NOA-2 is not required for a K-1 interview in Guangzhou at the US Consulate IV Unit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi Epitope, My fiancée has her interview the same day! The instructions contained in the Appointment Letter clearly state that she needs a copy of the Appointment Letter itself for her interview and her medical. Make sure she prints out several copies of the letter to take with her.

Are you going to be with her for the interview?

Thank you all for your answers, as always they are always very helpful.

@Sanyata:

What a coincidence! Unfortunately, I won't be able to go to China at the end of this month. I work full time and can't really take days off. I hope this won't hurt my fiancée's chances.

We just received the letter yesterday evening and I was up till midnite with my fiancée booking flights, hotel, etc. Fortunately I've been blocking out weeks for a vacation hovering around these dates so I could lock them in at a moments notice. I really wanted to be there to support her as she's very nervous and anxious about the whole ordeal. If there is anything we can do for a fellow VJer let me know.

No. But the NOA2 IS a requirement of Adjustment of Status which is the next process once she's here in the US and you are married. You can try sending a copy of the NVC notice but you will see the NOA2 is specifically mentioned.
