Hello all,

So My friend, who got married to a USC two years ago is trying to remove her conditions.

They submitted all the paperwork with payment and all evidences such as health insurance, car insurance, tax returns, 2 affidavits of friends etc..

Now, she received this letter in attachment saying that her conditions is extended for one year and that they received the payment. For her to wait for the biometrics letter...

Why are they giving her just one more year and did not remove her conditions on her Green Card?

Anything similar to your case? Please help!

J

Everybody gets this who is applying for ROC in their GC. They get this because it takes a long while to process her/his application and in the "waiting" period for approval and the issuance of the new 10 year GC this is how she/he can show that thy are permanent residents, so that they can still work, study and whatever they wish to do in the US. This is the proof of their permanent residency in this "waiting" period....

Sounds like they are behind on getting those applications approved so they are giving her proof of extention until they can get the card processed. This is a good thing!

1. Why are they giving her just one more year

2. and did not remove her conditions on her Green Card?

3.Anything similar to your case? Please help!

1. The letter is proof that she filed for ROC and that she's legal until the ROC processing is complete.

2. It's not immediate. she will need to wait several months (around 6+ months)

3. This is the standard procedure.
