USCIS lists criteria for granting an expedite request (you can find it on the USCIS website or by using the VJ search tool). If your expedite request does not fall within the established criteria, then the request will be denied.

Yes you need a reason! And they don't accept just any reason. But you have only waited since September, that's nothing! Just hang in there!

Not only do you need a reason, you need a very, very good reason.

Whilst it's probably best never to assume, I'd still hazard a guess you don't fall under 'em.

Anyone can request it. A reason is needed to be approved for an expedite, not to request one. Family visas are considered "expedited" already and they usually do not grant requests for faster service except for military personelle who are being sent overseas. But you can try
