I just read that there are additional fees to be paid such as the AOS BILL and the IV Bill. What are those bills?

Then I read someone who asked about the cost of the I-129F application fee and thought it was $360. I actually submitted $420 with my I-130 petition. I am now more curious about the additional fees that we are going to anticipate paying as the process continues on. I had some idea that we would have to pay for a VISA bill. But we didn't know there was an AOS fee and that is so much. Oh my! :bonk:

Thanks for any comments welcome.

Examples of what I saw:

Visa processing fee: $240

Adjustment of Status fee: $1070

The I-129F filing fee is $340, and the I-130 fee is $420. Those fees you posted are for a K-1 fiance(e) visa, not for a spousal visa. You do not have to adjust status when you enter the US with a spousal visa(IR-1/CR-1).

See this thread for the spousal visa fees: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/387087-fees-for-cr-1-visa/page__view__findpost__p__5660862

You pay $88 for the Affidavit of Support not for any adjustment of status. The fees you will not see outright are the translation of all civil documents, and the medical exams they are not cheap out translator charge rates equivalent to US rates and documents have to have his translator number and an official stamp for the consulate to accept them ($30 per page average). The medical ex cost 1500 dirham plus any travel back and forth, the costs add up.

Good luck,

Good luck,

The remaining fees paid to the government are $88 for Affidavit Of Support (not Adjustment Of Status) and $230 Immigrant Visa Application Fee. You'll also pay for the medical and any vaccinations. I expect you'll have some other incidental expenses but if you've already filed the petition, you should have already obtained any needed translations.

Keep in mind that civil documents in Morocco are only valid for 90 days. I have seen many cases mine included where the documents had to be redone because NVC and the consulate took over 90 days to process the visa request and schedule an interview. Any documents front loaded have to be redone by the time the entire process is complete.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. We appreciate it and we are now a bit more relieved to hear that the AOS (adjustment of status) fee does not apply for us. :)

Thanks for this clarification. And yes, we know so well all the fees need to be paid just to get something stamped. And we have a reliable translator in Rabat who is certified so I am content with that.
