Hi everyone,

I am a May 22nd filer and I have not heard back from USCIS since! It's now been almost 6 1/2 months. I called last night and they finally let me put in a service request. They told me I should be hearing back by Dec. 15th. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me what exactly happens during that time and what kind of response it might be. Is it possible that they reply back by saying you have to wait longer?? I am just wondering what exactly happens during a service request and if someone had to go through that before, maybe they can tell me their experience. Thanks a lot!

ABSOLUTELY. They will inform you if they have approved the SERVICE REQUEST or not and their actions if approved. They usually tell you even if service request approved to allow them 60 more days!!!!!! They will snail mail this response to you by the date they gave you Dec 15th. I put in ours on Nov 16th and received the notice by snail mail stating they requested our file.. SO PRETTY MUCH JUST MORE WAITING!!!!!

We havent heard anything regarding what they have done or if they have it. I called USCIS last Thursday and spoke with a man who basically told me exactly what was on the snail mail , needless to say that was no help. So here we sit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also filed for service request, but like stated above, after waiting the amount of time asked for; nothing happened. Oh, they did tell us to wait more... I don't want to disappoint you telling you the amount.

Anyhow, during that time we resorted to contacting the congressman as our last hope. We only got a response from her saying "X person from my staff will attend to this and get back at you." We didn't hear anything from this assigned staff. But NOA2 did come shortly after.

Now is there a link in between? No idea.

But what gives?

From NOA1 to interview, our K-1 journey took 317 days to complete.

You can view our timeline & embassy review on this link here.

AOS, here we come.
