Keeping more of your own money is not "free money", something the government fails to understand. Every dollar the government spends, on defense, or wealth redistribution, has to either be taken from some American, or has to be borrowed, and paid back by some future American yet to be born, with interest.

Bravo. Right. That's what Mitt failed to understand. He wanted to let you keep more of your money, have the government spend more and borrow less - all at the same time. The only way you can do that is with free money coming from somewhere. That's what he promised. Free money. A free lunch. And people didn't buy it.

Of course, not much changed in Congress either, so Obama's coattails didn't carry enough folks to give him the same control in Congress that he had when he was elected the first time. It looks like the American people want to give him another four years, but not a free reign.

A majority of votes cast for congress were for Democrats! It was not a triumph of republican ideas so much as a triumph of gerrymandering by republicans!

But you do have to pay your bills! You owe the government taxes for all the services government provides. This includes all the military conflicts dating back to WWII that were put on the tab for future generations to pay. You right-wingers can't seem to get enough war yet how did GWB 'pay' for the 2 wars he started? With tax CUTS benefitting primarily the richest Americans! Taxes are only 'taken' if the tax-payer refuses to pay voluntarily.

This includes all the military conflicts dating back to WWII that were put on the tab for future generations to pay. I don't like war. Unlike Bush and Clinton and Bush and Obama, I don't think we should be intervening in all of the worlds problems, best of intentions aside.

I would like the government to do less with less. 2/3's of the debt the Federal Government owes itself and those they borrowed money from was incurred in the last 12 years, more than half of that in the last 3 years and 10 months.

Not really.

These alleged conservatives believe they should not have to pay to their own medical insurance so they can stick it to someone else. They don't want to pay taxes, unless you are middle class, because the rich need all the money they can get to generate jobs.

They want nothing to be free for anyone by themselves.

They want government out of their lives but insist on bigger government in the lives of others.
