Anyone else suffering from sugar shock today?

We got more kids than usual at my parents' house. Normally, we only get about 5 or 6 groups, but we must have had about twice that much last night. I saw a lot of (to me) shocking behavior as well, with several kids digging their hands into my candy bowl (you'll take what I hand you, thank you very much) and one group where both moms had their own costumes and bags. I soooo didn't want to give them any candy. Had a few real little ones in strollers-didn't even occur to me that they were way to young for candy (shame shame mom and dad). Incidentally, the first bowl grabber was dressed as an angel! Everyone loved seeing my little doggie dressed up in his costume. Even the pizza man got some candy. In the end, everyone was happy, and I was a good girl and only ate 4 fun size chocolate bars the whole day.

BTW, does anyone know why them things are called "Fun Size"? What's so fun about a teeny tiny chocolate bar?

What I've been enjoying are bite size snickers. But I bought them for me, not for the kids.

The kids got the cheaper stuff...dumdums and mike&ikes.

One little kid even said, "Oh man, everyone is giving us mike&ikes", I almost wanted to say 'Ok then I guess you don't need anymore!!" But I'm too wimpy to say that.

We had maybe 15 kids total. I have lots of dumdums left over. What a dumb name for a lollipop.

LOL some kid was real excited to show me his Mike&Ike-he goes "Look what I got!" I was like, hmm wow! My parents bought Tootsie Roll Pops, Three Musketeers, and Snickers to hand out first, then the Hershey Bars when that was all gone (my mom wanted to hold on to those ) The candy I bought to bring to work (or would have handed out if I had been home) was Reese Cups, Kit Kats, and Hershey Bars. What can I say? I go for the good stuff!!

when we were little our next door neighbor would get candy for the kids....and then full size hershey's for the kids on the street. My brother and I used to look foward to that SO MUCH - we didn't get lots of candy as kids.

We had a little girl come over and look at what was offered (Butterfinger, Giant Tootsie Rolls, M&Ms, Snickers and 3 Musketeeers) and say "I don't want ANY of THESE candies" and withdrew her hand from the bowl with a look of total disdain on her face.

Her mom whispered "I love my little girls, but they are such ######!ing b!itches."

I had a cute little girl come to the door, who was maybe 4 years old. She was dressed as snow white. She yelled "trick or treat" before ringing the door bell, outside the door...and never did knock or ring so I opened the door. And her dad said to her "Now you were supposed to say it.." I said hello and she says next, "Whatcha got in there?" and starts sticking her hand into the candy bowl. Her dad said, "no no honey SHE is supposed to give you the candy". She was so cute and little and had no idea what she was doing besides getting free candy.

Maybe, but...omg I remember saying several things along those lines when I was a kid...like one Christmas at Grandma's house when I complained that I didn't receive any toys...I mean you expect such things from kids, not necessarily because they're being a biotch, but because they don't always know better...the mom should have known better though. I mean who calls your own kid that...in front of strangers???
