How long is the visa valid?

I petitioned both my parents.They are scheduled for interview next month. If everything goes well, if my parents pass the interview and received their visa. How long can they stay in the country before they fly to USA?

six months I believe is the max.

Usually it is 6 months, but check the visa page in the passport when they get it as occasionally, it is less (especially if it's been a while since their medical).

Do you have any idea if my parents can extend their stay/visa like for another 1-2 months. They can't fly asap because my sister is getting married on MAY, by that time it's already 6 months.

Not normally, no. You could re-schedule the interview though, to late December maybe?

My hubby and kids did their medical August 2011, their visa was valid until February 2012. (refer to my signature)
