hello all,

i am new to posting on this forum, but have looked at it several times for help.

i was wondering if anyone knows about traveling while a K1 visa petition is being processed but not yet approved of from the service center. i am a u.s.citizen but haven't seen my fiancee in 6 months and was hoping to travel down to Australia to visit soon for a couple months as a tourist. you all know how stressful & frustrating this process can be, any help will be great. the uscis website is vague on this subject.

There is absolutely no restriction on you traveling to see your fiance(e) in the land down under, only the other way them coming to the USA can be tricky sometimes.

It would actually help your case more if you did travel more to see each other. Whether you go there, she comes here, or you both go to some other country.

This is a common question and I do not understand why people would believe that the USCIS or DOS would want to keep a couple apart during the process and would actually prevent us from going to visit visiting our SO. But as others have indicated... by all means GO!!!!!!!!!!

Yes of course you can go down under mate!! Like someone mentioned earlier, it will only help your case out by going down there....it helps show "proof of ongoing relationship".

I know what you meant to say in your post, but reading this phrase made me think of all the foreing spouses/fiances/fiancees being denied their turist visas or their entry at POE during the K3/K1 process.....but maybe those are different US government agencies and have different directions?

NO problem! You can go to see her as much time as you like. And, collecting as much evidences as possible.

Just keep in mind that you want to keep an eye on approval letter... or, the worst case is REF. You don't want any time delay bcoz you are out of the town.

Its not only allowed, but I highly encourage it! My fiancee and I filed in February, and I have come back to her country four times since, each time just as the stress of waiting was getting too difficult. Also, take lots of new photos during your trip, as they can be used as new evidence of the "ongoing" relationship during the interview phase. Good luck, and go see your loved one!

Thanks everyone for your advice and thoughts. i am going soon, but not as soon as i'd like! i'll be there for a couple months (not very keen on a HOT X-mas, that should be cold & snowy!!) hopefully i'll remember to take lots of photos to help with more proof/evidence!!!!!

While the restriction or difficulty is only inbound to the US they do not restrict the USC outbound. So you do not have to be apart per se but the burden is on the USC to GO to there beloved during this process...
