I am trying to find some help for my friend. I would appreciate it so much if someone could help me. We have looked at visa categories and aren't sure which he would fall under to come here to work.

He was last in the USA in Hollywood, CA in 2009 studying as a sound engineer in a top US college. He became pro tools 210m and 210p operator certified and finished his course. It was a tough and intensive course where only a very small percentage pass.

Upon finishing the course he returned back to England and found little to no work in his trained profession. He NEEDS to be in Hollywood at the epicenter of the industry to find the work he is trained to do.

I'm sure ideally the situation would be to do very cheap freelance work to gain a reputation, but i'm sure he'd appreciate any form of work in this area.

What (if any) visa would he be able to get to get into the US?

I don't know where to start. I just want to help my friend. He worked damn hard and it's just not the place to be in England.

He has no criminal record, no over stays on previous visas, no recent trips etc etc. A totally clean record.

Thankyou in advance

Have him network with friends and colleagues from the program he attended to see if there are companies that could/would sponsor him for the visa. The company does most of the work regarding the visa.

He would have a tough time securing a work visa to be a freelancer.
