I like baseball, but I try not to develop an attachment to any given team (this is made easier by living in a city with no MLB franchise, and having grown up in a country with only one remaining MLB franchise that hasn't won a World Series (or even come close, to my knowledge) since the early 90's). That way I can enjoy games while not particularly caring who wins. It's much more relaxing.

That said, watching the Yankees get whooped by a come-from-behind upset is a little more fun than watching them win, but both are pretty cool.

I grew up in Saint Louis which naturally makes me a fan, but I also think they are a great legacy having been the second most winning team in baseball after the Yankee's...but they did it without the money.

Now that I'm in the Bay Area I guess if the Cards get knocked out, I'll probably back the A's.

I hope the Red Sox win their series. Oops! I forgot. :crying:

The Red Sox have sucked since I moved here. I think I started a new curse. Expect the next world series win in 2093!

OUCH! I'm glad I'm not a Nationals fan! I feel bad enough just having empathy for them! Feeling that pain directly must be horrible.

So you think St. Louis can keep the Giants out of the World Series, per your prediction? Or were you not figuring on them getting this far?

Of course, the post-season is always just a roll of the dice anyways.

Well, I am a Tigers fan and have been all my life - the 1984 World Series being one of the top moments in life so far, below getting married but above college graduation and career promotions.

That said, I am not getting emotionally invested in this because they have been too inconsistent and have done everything the hard way this season. I will enjoy our divisional win (only the 5th time it's happened in my lifetime)and Miggy's triple crown win (only time anyone has done that in my lifetime).

When they blew their 2-0 lead against the A's I prepared for the worst, thank God for Verlander

I am glad that if they fail against the Yankees, I will be out of the country but I remain cautiously optimistic.

Yesterday was one of the most awesome days in all of baseball! I think the one thing the Giants have as an edge is rest. The Cardinals had to play a wild card game and their series was a day behind the Giants so the first game is very likely a Giants win.

Cardinals are probably going to have Lynn pitch 4-5 innings and then go to the bullpen as Lynn did pitch an inning on Thursday.
