Approved and confused!

Hello,

Last night, around 11:45 pm CT received a text saying my app was updated... checked it out online and found out that it was approved. To my big surprise it was the 129F app and not the main 130 app. When I mailed the I129F app i thought it may speed up the process and even if it does not speed up the process I did not think it could hurt anything. Later, I learned from this web site that it actually appeared like it delayed the process for some people, but most people said that it would be processed and approved at the same time. It did not happen for me.

so to make the long story short, this whole time I was preparing for the I130 to be approved and not the I129. Anyway, I am very happy and excited but I need to see now what I need to do and what docs i need to have for the I-129 app. Please help! Thanks!

I am a bit confused, your time line states that you filed an I-130, which is if you are married. An I-129F would not be a correct petition if you are married??

Still confused. I went here http://www.visajourney.com/content/k3guide and a K3 is also for persons married. How can one send in a I-129F and get an approval if they are already married??

An I-129F submitted after an I-130 is what starts the K3 process.

That's correct. I submitted the I-129F and included a copy of the I-130 NOA1 with it. Does anybody know if my NVC process will be different now from the regular husband/wife I-130 application? Thanks!

I thought the K3 just gets closed when it hits the NVC and there is no longer any reason to file it.

OP, it appears your I-129F somehow got separated from the I-130. Since it will likely arrive at the NVC ahead of the I-130 (as the I-130 has not yet been approved), the NVC will assign a case number and send it to the appropriate Embassy or Consulate.

You have a choice, you can either follow the correspondence and instructions received from the Embassy/Consulate on the K3 or hope your I-130 gets approved soon and you can follow the appropriate steps at the NVC to continue the CR-1 process.
