Looking at my case and the other cases I've read about, I think there's a real case in attempting a walk-in for the Bio-metrics appointment. I had to go to Durham, NC for my appointment and because I had arrived earlier than my original appointment, I had to wait for 15 min while people with appointments were asked to go in first (quite rightly so) and then they called me in. My Bio-metrics was scheduled originally for today but because I did a walk-in about 2 weeks earlier, I guess it did help because I now have an appointment for my interview. I'd also think that if my file was handled at a center that wasn't as busy as LA, TX etc it might make a difference.

All speculative of course :-)

Wow! Your case is going so quickly! We filed about 10 days after you but are just going to biometrics on this coming Tuesday. Wonder if doing a walk in would have made any difference? Guess it's impossible to say. Our case still is not available on the USCIS site. Hoping that after the biometrics is completed, we receive an interview letter quickly and/or EAD & AP!!! Would really be great if we can go back to Denmark for Christmas, but considering we're in California, it might be a stretch... Fingers are crossed.

That is certainly odd because your case should be on the USCIS website already. There's no reason why it shouldn't and I don't know how productive it is to call and ask. From what I read on the forum, it's a waiting game and unless it's life and death-we'd be hard pressed to get an answer from the call centers. Yes, if your biometric appointment is coming up, best to just go ahead and get it done, especially since it's around the corner. With your timeline, I'd say you have a very good shot at making it to Denmark for Christmas!

Alright, so it is now October 26. Our interview is November 26. I'm really hoping to see an EAD in hand by then, but I just don't see how the math adds up. It's still stuck at the Review phase...there's going to be precious little point generating an EAD that'll be with me for all of a few days before the interview

I haven't received an EAD too. It surely beats the purpose. Right now i have at 22 days before my interview slated for 19 nov. Even if i receive the EAD now, it won't be of much help for the next 3 weeks! I hear that the DREAM ACT (DACA) fellows who applied in august and sep are given priority on EAD processing over the AOS filers. This has also created a backlog. USCIS premise (if this is true) is that the AOS filers will have the right to work anyway once approved, while the only benefit for Dreamers is the EAD to be able to work, so they prioritize dreamers processing....but... What happened to "first in first out" philosophy?

Either way, you will get your EAD. Some people get EAD and GC in the mail the same day. I know, what's the purpose then....

Camp lo vipi? Most people here who filed on 4th Sept, 2012 including myself have been scheduled for interviews. This may not be the same for everybody as some cases vary considerably depending on service center and local field offices. The good thing is finally/eventually,everyone will have a chance for interview regardless of how USCIS 'snail paces'.I wish you all the best mwenzangu. Good luck!!

thing is, it's not a first in first out policy lol. each AOS case has its own complications so they handle it faster depending on the case itself.

Oh wow, yea I see that you did your biometrics on Sept 24th... You haven't heard anything since? I'm praying that my husband receives his EAD/AP card before Dec 14th so we can at least go to Denmark for the holidays, but perhaps I'm overreaching.. Grrrrrrrrr :crying:

Please keep us updated when you receive correspondence, it's nice to know where others are in the process and that actually have the same local office.

Looks like you are also in CA and have a similar timeline to us as far as the timing between sending, receiving NOA and completing biometrics. I noticed that you completed yours in the beginning of October and seems as though you haven't heard anything since.. It's difficult seeing others on here with GC in hand 3 months after filing. I have a feeling all of us in CA are going to be waiting a bit longer than that. Good to hear the timelines of other people who are close by, at least it gives me something to better gauge from.

Try to stay patient, I know it's hard!!!

Lol :) I am not patient at all, a lot of times ...but when I think about how many years I am already on this visa journey and how many years are still ahead, I'll better get used to it.

I think we are pretty lucky, other visa applications/AOSs have to wait way, way longer.
