hi all

congrats to all that have been approved...

and a long drawn out sighhhhhhhhhhhh for those who are still waiting...

wifeofhunky hang in there and keep emailing mate...although my approval only took 38 days i still felt guilty that so many above me was still waiting...there are no words to comfort you but from the bottom of my heart i hope its not too much longer for you and for the others waiting..i feel all your frustrations ...so sorry you all are still waiting....

i cannot understand with them putting up the fees in the future to an incredible amount is going to ease this wait for future applicants...we get our police check done in our countries...and i might be wrong but dont we get a check done at NVC before it goes to our consulates....everything is on computer why not cross reference...now is it the immigrants name checked or both names...i really dont understand what would take so long in this day and age when you can put in a word in googles and come up with thing relating to that word...just punch in the surname and have done with it...

11th Aug 2008 - Mailed I-751 to CSC.

12th Aug 2008 - Application received

14th Aug 2008 - Cheque cashed

18th Aug 2008 - Received NOA-dated the 12th

26th Aug 2008 - Received Biometrics letter

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

...and i might be wrong but dont we get a check done at NVC before it goes to our consulates....everything is on computer why not cross reference...

They also do checks after the interviews through DOS. All coming from a ME/NA country have name checks done before the visa can be issued. Some more than others, but all are checked.

:( Nothing here since the 12th. I knew they were just messing with my head. And I for one am just about over it. Not to hurt anyones feelings but I am real sick of seeing people getting approved in 2 months while we sit in limbo. Soon gonna tell the USCIS to shove their bloody greencard where the sun don't shine.

*sigh* We're right there with you too Freda. We just don't know what to think, yanno and yet there are others who've waited far longer than we have and dammit, I'm as frustrated for them as I am for the rest of us.

I really am trying to understand this name check thing. I really am. *sigh*

Any advise on keeping focused and not giving up lal brandow? I don't know if I could hang on as long as you. Not to insult anyone but it's not like I came here from a country at war or hardship to escape. I had a damn good life in Canada. A full time job as a nurse a home, family, friends and a life. It's hard enough starting over but to go through this is insane. I'm sure some of my frustration other issues like not having seen my family in almost a year. And missing my twin sister desperately. But still. Damn can't they just do their job and stop being total A**e*?

really I dont. Im sorry. I have to clarify this greencard is for my husband, not me - i am just the facilitator of our file :D . The one thing I do depend on is our lobbying effort through AFU and the outlet it gives to actually get something done. The Strive Act gives very specific guidelines in which the namechecks must adhere to such as reporting numbers of files that are pending and reasons behind it. Making them accountable is a wonderful step in the right direction, and is much better than the bill from last year (which did not address it at all).

Anyway I digress. It's day by day. Some days are better than others, but I am not a sit by and wait kind of chica. I have to do something, be it contacting my congressman/senator, helping others on VJ and other sites and also researching. I hope there is resolution for you soon. :star:

i just joined the CSC transfer list, just recived the e-mail, my case transfered to CSC right now on 30 march

any advice you people, the processing time is 31 decamber for the EAD and the AOS is 21 Augast i think, last update was 15 march

any advice, any body know approixmatly when i can recive my EAD?

is there is anyway i recive the green card before the EAD?

i really dont care of the AOS, it takes its time, interview or not , i dont care

but am dying for the work authoriztion, i hate watching TV all day long

EAD's take around 90 days usually. You may even receive your green card before your EAD.

If you get your green card first, there is no need for the EAD. The green card gives you work authorization.

Nobody can tell you when you will receive your EAD - only that it usually takes about 90 days, though some have received it sooner and some later.

What kaffykat is saying is .... because you got transferred to CSC, you MAY get your green card in a shorter space of time than most and then, won't even need to worry about the EAD.

2006-10-29 Xiang and Qi arrived in Detroit, immigrations 2 1/2 hours, finally holding my sweetheart in my arms.

2006-11-05 Exchanging our vows, what a beautiful day for our wedding!
