If only they had english subtitles for my wife's soaps, I would learn tagalog in no time.

09-07-2010 - I-129F filed for K-1 Visa.
09-12-2010 - NOA1 confirmation email received.
11-02-2010 - I visitied the Philippines again.

02-07-2011 - NOA2 email recieved. Approved.
03-22-2011 - Case at USEM.

04-15-2011 - Interview Date. She passed.
05-01-2011 - POE

06-25-2011 - We were married.

-Life has been great ever since.

Ya right. I'm not the one that watches them. She does on the TV in the living room while we are cooking, eating, and visiting. It's pretty amazing how I can tell exactly what is happening without knowing a word they are saying. If there were subtitles, I would be forced into learning tagalog.

LOL my husband wants to learn tagalog too, he can only say "Opo" means yes in a respectful way. :lol:

Half the time they speak English. It also deep English, as I have to translate sometimes the English for my wife. Also the same words seem to pop a lot. Learned that papatayin kita is not greeting to use at burger king. But for the most part between the Tagalog words used often and English, I can get by. The problem here is that they speak ilocano, not much Tagalog.

Well i can relate to what you say. My husband also watched the Filipino tv series coz I always watch it and asking me why they just don't talk straight English or straight Tagalog. Is it really like that so I will answer him that's what we call "Taglish" coz they combine it. I just need to translate it so he can understand what they are saying and later on he understand just a few Tagalog words now.
